Elders with STRONG personalities....
by JH inthere is an elder in my congregation that has a very strong personality.
he drove volkswagens and many bought the same make as he did.
we had another elder back then that drove a dodge aries and another elder who had a peugeot garage and he sold so many second hand peugeots to members of the congregation.

Sorry F-F, they weren't really window washers, that seems to be the stereotypical dub on this forum. They were pretty much just under-educated guys trying to support their families. Also, I heard that Taurus were going to be cut from the production line. I thought Satan was the ruler around here! Did you guys ever hear that pioneer joke about what kind of car they drove in the garden of eden? well, I actually don't know exactly because I don't have my bible handy, but it was a Honda because a scripture said they all were in one accord. bu-dum-dum!

What did you think you would be doing in the paradise? like after all the garbage was picked up and the 2nd dead were buried? I thought I would get a house with a creek running through it and play with animals. Then I would get to know everything there was to know about how the earth worked, and learn to swim underwater without coming up for air. Maybe jumping off a cliff cuz there was no death, like in Ground Hog Day. I ran out of things to do in my mind, but I wondered what you guys had planned?

I haven't really seen what you post of. But, I did notice a battle going on over semantics on a ufo thread. It seemed one person would ask a question and then go on a tirade over a response given because it wasn't in the language or perspective from that person. does that make sense? but, whatever the motivations, it did feel violent to my psyche just reading it. as a dub, i was so so clever and mean and i was rewarded for it. i have learned that kindness is strength and wisdom together, not being naive and dumb. I like reading warm fuzzy posts. I also like reading frustrated posts. But mean, angry posts aren't doing me any good.

did you listen to the kingdom songs on CD?
by dobbie injust wondering if anyone else had the collection of kingdom melodies on tape or cd and if you ever listened to them?i ordered the whole set of 9 cds 2 yrs ago and donated over 100.00 for them!
!was just thinking i could have bought a nice winter coat with that!i used to play them at home all the time, even in the car or when we had the group meeting at our house.i used to love one particular song cos it had a full orchestra and would play it over and over again.some of them were pretty cheesy though - one song was sung in opera style but not the words she she 'ahd' it all the way through - horrible!was anyone else as sad as me and did you actually pay for them?i regret it now cos they're all in the attic and can't bear to use them ever again..

No no no. Can't stand those songs. Hearing clips on youtube gives me the willies. Unrelated, but good: my husband makes music and makes his own tapes to sell (cds now), but my grandma had about 300 W/A tapes and my mom let me have them. I gave them to my husband, (before we ever dated) and he recorded his albums on them and sold them to people. I really hope people got the message.

by *jeremiah* inok, here's a hypothetical that i'm curious about.. what if armageddon really did happen?
not necessarily according to jw terms or timetable, but at some point it happens in your lifetime.
would any of you return to the jws?.

i agree with lowden 100%. I imagine if my stony little heart was back in Noah's day, I would be waving to the ark while floating on a tree branch next to all the other little innocent creatures getting annihilated by a jealous, insecure, jackass of a creator. Give me my hailstone! Don't put me in that kind of eternity, puh-lease!
