Next he uses a dark implication about the amount of time Watters spent in Bethel and as a JW -- as if "barely 8 years of active participation" is not enough to make a sound judgement about the validity of "his new faith". The idea seems to be that one needs decades of experience to make a proper judgment.
Come to think of it, JF Rutherford was rather a novice when he became president. From baptism to presidency in about 11 years.
*** jv 67 6 A Time of Testing (1914-1918) *** In 1906, Joseph F. Rutherford was baptized, and a year later he became the Watch Tower Society’s legal counsel.
*** w60 10/1 604 Pursuing My Purpose in Life ***At the business meeting in January, 1917, Brother Joseph Rutherford was elected president of the Society.

at the long beach, ca dc this last week, the parking spaces were severely decreased from previous years.
a full 45 minutes prior to the start of the saturday program, the parking lot attendants were turning cars away because the lot was full!
many, many cars that came in just after ours did were turned away!
I was told that the parking tickets were to be returned at the end of the convention. Anyone know anything about that or the reason for tickets being returned?

has anyone ever written to the society, with evidence of misquotes, and asked them for an explanation of this?
or has anyone ever written and asked them why they quote and don't give the source of the quote?
if i did this, do you think i would get into trouble in the congregation, etc.?

It seems they took their meals in the same manner in which they did their teaching. The following is from the NWT Reference Bible:
*** Rbi8 Acts 2:46 ***46 And day after day they were in constant attendance at the temple with one accord, and they took their meals in private homes and partook of food with great rejoicing and sincerity of heart,
*** Acts 2:46 (ftn) ***Or, “from house to house.” Gr., kat´ oi'kon. See 5:42 ftn, “House.”
*** Rbi8 Acts 5:42 ***42 And every day in the temple and from house to house they continued without letup teaching and declaring the good news about the Christ, Jesus.
*** Acts 5:42 (ftn) ***Lit., “according to house.” Gr., kat´ oi'kon. Here ka·ta' is used with the accusative sing. in the distributive sense. R. C. H. Lenski, in his work The Interpretation of The Acts of the Apostles, Minneapolis (1961), made the following comment on Ac 5:42: “Never for a moment did the apostles cease their blessed work. ‘Every day’ they continued, and this openly ‘in the Temple’ where the Sanhedrin and the Temple police could see and hear them, and, of course, also kat' oÎkon, which is distributive, ‘from house to house,’ and not merely adverbial, ‘at home.’ ”
*** Rbi8 Acts 20:20 ***20 while I did not hold back from telling YOU any of the things that were profitable nor from teaching YOU publicly and from house to house.
*** Acts 20:20 (ftn) ***Or, “and in private houses.” Lit., “and according to houses.” Gr., kai kat´ oi'kous. Here ka·ta' is used with the accusative pl. in the distributive sense. Compare 5:42 ftn, “House.”

In the early 80's a number of young people in the congregation got together each week to study their WT lesson together. It was stopped--danger of apostacy. Some apostacy at Bethel got started that way, you know!
