Mine's going really well - feel there's lots of distance between me and the wtbts now. Still have family in though - but can observe and accept more - thanks to jwd

How's your recovery from the WTS coming along?
by Frannie Banannie ini came on this forum a few years ago, already hyped up from online xjw chat groups and the h2o forum and raring to kick some jdubya butt.
then i began to calm down and i began to reach out to the newbies coming to this forum, helping (hopefully) where i could.
after a while the subject of jdubya-ism began to sour on my brain and i began absenteeism from jwd at times, but i always come back.

For anyone struggling to free themselves or loved ones from the Watchtower.
by nicolaou ini just wanted to share an encouraging thought with anyone who is struggling to fade away from the watchtower.
six years ago, when i first started posting here, i was a ministerial servant with doubts.
my wife was an active sister and my 11 and 12 year old sons were enrolled in the theocratic ministry school and going out in field service every week along with their 7 year old sister.. there has been a lot of stress and tears along the way, my wife and i often wondered what our future would bring, but i can honestly say that we have made it.

Really glad your immediate family are all together. A narrow escape for all of you.
I think some people are definitely in for good - honestly I just can't imagine them out of the org, so i suppose its a question of accepting that. I'd really like to get my son out though - he does tend to think for himself, so maybe there's hope there.
thanks for sharing your experience.

Would Blondie or Mary ever make it as Elders in your old Congregation?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inwe know the wts will never except woman as elders.in the last year as a member of jwd,i have learned more from blondie and mary than any elder in my congregation.all the elders in my congregation look like they go thru the motions.they are more like policy enforcers than teachers.. do you think that by excepting woman, some men would be embarassed to how little they know?
does the wts know some woman would better teachers?
is it more like a men's club?

How much more can a person take?
by juni ini'm in a very low mood today.. i read about all of the misery that this f* religion has caused for people and their families.
my friend told me how he's been visiting an 80 yr. old brother in very poor health and no one has come to visit - just calls.

synergy, have you thought of giving your story to maybe a newspaper or magazine to print because you explained everything very clearly with all the refrences reasons why jws do what they do. People in general are often in dark about what actually goes on at the kh.
thanks again for your brave and courageous story.

((((((Synergy))))))
thanks for sharing your very sad story
I really feel for you as little girl having to experience all that demented brutality and abuse from adults around you and from the borg.
Even when I had my daughter I had to forbid my father from holding her in the Kingdom Hall or he would beat her. At three months old, an infant, she began to cry. I was sitting next to him at the Hall in the middle of a Sunday Watchtower study. He reached down to her carrier she lay in (I thought he was going to act like a Papa and maybe pick her up to hold her) he grabbed her tiny hand and gave it three hard smacks. She cried harder. Think of that!
The above happens all too often at kh's around the world. Wish there was some way we could stop it immediately.
love

Losing the faith-but using the bible?
by JWdaughter ini find myself still arguing for the bible pov vs. the wt pov at times when i really don't believe the bible is inspired of god.
a whole new layer of potential evil on my part, i guess.
however i just think that academically, if they are claiming their stance as being from the bible, that it is fair to show them where it is not biblical.

I agree with you JWdaughter and do the same.
Find that there is a lot of inspirational/enlightening stuff in the bible especially in what Jesus said.
