in short, my mom's a die hard jw.
my brother was never baptised and, although he doesn't believe or go to the kh anymore, my mom still has a relationship with him.
thus he decided to email the following to our mom and her reply is below.. what i want to know is,...what would be an excellent reply for my brother to use in response to her comment?
Auld Soul,
Thanks for your comments.
To answer your question:
In your opinion, which is the WTS proving to be? Does your Mom think they are behaving honorably in this matter, or is she unable to even ask herself that question?
My mom is the type of JW that let's the WTS think for her. If the WTS says that they were behaving honorably then that is what she will believe,...no questions asked. I doubt she would ask that question in her own mind,...but if asked by someone else,...WTS mentality kicks in right away...like a robot.

Thanks everyone for all your excellent points!
Question:
Has anyone emailed the UN Librarian lately ( Dana Loytve)?
I'm curious to know if she still works there. If so,...would it be wrong to email her about this issue again? I know she has probably been contacted hundreds,...maybe thousands of times already. I have read the letter she wrote explaining that before 9/11 an organization didn't have to be a NGO/DPI member to gain access to the UN libraries.
I thought it would be good if my bro emailed Dana and copied my mom on it.
The email could say something like this:
(apologies/ niceties/ greetings)
Dana I came across this letter (copy and paste it)on the internet. Could you please confirm to myself and my mother that this is in fact a letter written by you? Thank you.
Then she replies YES to both my brother and my mom.
Whatdya think?

Thanks Honesty!
I loved the analogy,...the whole eating of the forbidden fruit.

What I want to know is,...what would be an excellent reply for my brother to use in response to her comment? For example, what is true and what is false about her statement?
My brothers email to my mom:
Hey mom,
I came across a document about the jehovah's witnesses being
affilitated with the U.N. (seven headed beast) for about ten years.
Just wondering if you have heard about this?

My mom's reply:
Hi,Yes,Every time an entity incorporates they are considered a NGO. For
example, if Danny and I decided to have ABW Vending become a corporation
that would automatically make us a NGO. Back in the 1800's the
Watchtower Tract and Bible Society incorporated and thus became a NGO by
doing so. When you read the Watchtower and Awake you will notice that
they quote from all kinds of authorites, organizations, etc. They site
where the information was taken from. The writing staff for many years
has used the resources available from the library at the Department of
Publoic Information, a Department of the United Nations. For years they
were able to go in and access the information with no problem. Then in
1991 a different person took over and refused entry to the brother who
went to do research. He was told that all they had to do was make an
application to the DPI and they could again gain access to the library.
They had resource information that would be important in light of Bible
prophecy. There was nothing in the application that had any statements
against our Christian faith, so they applied. Then in 2001 the brothers
realized that some of the language we could not agree with and they then
removed themselves. So the sole reason to be a NGO in this case was to
have access to the resources and library for the writing committee. We
as Christians are able to use government agencies for education, police
protection, etc., while not giving support to their political system. So
this would be the same. The individual governments are pictured by the
Wild Beast and the U.N. is pictured by the Scarlet Colored Wild Beast.
Jehovah allows these to exist and we benefit. Can you imagine what chaos
there would be without any sort of government in place? Romans 13:1
says, "Let every soul be in subjection to the superior authorities, for
there is no authority except by God; the existing authorities stand
placed in their relative positions by God." I hope that answers your
question.Love,Mom
Thanks in advance for your help.
the colts just beat the chiefs!
i'd like to see peyton manning win a super bowl ring!
swalker.
Go Colts!!!
I never would have guessed the current scenario. Of course I would love to see the Colts win it all,...but I thought this was San Diego's or Baltimore's year. Now that they are out it,...the Colts must realize the window of opportunity that they have before them and must capitalize.
If the defense shows up like it has in the last two games,...i would say we have a really good chance.
my amatuer commentary:.
i've been out of the game for over 14 years.
i haven't paid attention to the wts at all until i recieved "the end of false religion is near" tract.
My amatuer commentary:
I've been out of the game for over 14 years. I haven't paid attention to the WTS at all until I recieved "The End of False Religion is Near" tract. This tract drove me (accidentally) to JWD (woo-hooo) to find out what the heck is going on these days in the Tower.
With the recent tract "The End of False Religion is Near" and this new comment by James Rayford about the fulfillment of Matthew 24:14,...it has left me wondering/ pondering about some things.
It seems to me that it is more apt to say that the FDS is distributing drugs at the proper time rather than spiritual nourishment.
Correct me if I'm wrong here,...but, it seems as though the R & F crave these drugs. The distribution of "new light" or new literature, or a new campaign causes similar emotions experienced in real drug use. The R & F have a campaign handed to them like the most recent one and they are awash with emotions. The R & F gets high. A campaign, new light, or new literature can bring about excitement, fear (I must get things in order), arrogance, invincibility, a plethora of emotion, etc,....basically a rush. However, we all know that rush comes to an end when nothing happens and the WTS remains calm or silent. Hence, you have the lows, the time periods inbetween the releasing of new light, new literature, or new campaigns and these are the times when the R & F's cravings come back. The R & F can't wait for their next rush distributed by the FDS.
It is a religion and a life of peaks and valleys. There is a fine balancing act by the FDS most of the time. When they do make a bad chess move,...the R & F easily forgive and forget because of the brainwashing involved. Therefore, the FDS has the ability to make silly moves. What's important for them though, is to keep distributing the highs.
Two questions:
Would you say this is a valid view of the WT?
2nd, Like I said I haven't been watching the Tower for 14 yrs,....so, has the frequency of highs increased in recent years? In other words,...has the time inbetween the highs lessened?
warning: the wtbts is becoming more cultish as evidenced in this mp3.
listener take heed.
turn on all your cult warning alarms on.. .
Very creepy.
Was that David Koresh?
so i noticed a man who works in the same building as me has been carrying around his new world translation bible.
we don't know each other, but say hello now and again and i get the feeling that he is a very zealous brother.
i walk near his desk quite a bit.
Confession,
Gosh, Jeremiah, I'm sorry if it appears I keep shooting down your ideas.
Nope,...that's fine. That's what I want to hear. I want to try to use the best approach in this situation to possibly crack through the Jdub mind control. Something that will possibly stick in this man's subconscious for as long as he's a member. If using certain scripture might not be the best approach then that is exactly what I would like to know.
Thanks for your commentary.
