I think I just found the answer to my question: 43 The LORD said to Moses and Aaron, "These are the regulations for the Passover: "No foreigner is to eat of it. 44 Any slave you have bought may eat of it after you have circumcised him, 45 but a temporary resident and a hired worker may not eat of it. Exodus 12 ...but does foreigner mean non-believer? Because Moses and Aaron were believer's. Did Moses and Aaron partake?

The Way (sounds familiar)
by *jeremiah* ini think the jw's and the way should talk about a merger.. .
nature of jesus christ.
the way teaches that jesus christ had no existence before birth except in the mind of god.

Thanks Jeff,
I was talking amongst friends about my JW experience and found out that my friend grew up and escaped The Way.
In our conversation,....we found many similarities between the two cults. What i found interesting is their speech seems to be similar to JW's,....using phrases like,...."the truth", "brother" and "sister", etc.
Hmmmm....I wonder what their memorial or communion is like? I wonder if they parttake or pass the emblems.

I think the JW's and The Way should talk about a merger.
Nature of Jesus Christ
The Way teaches that Jesus Christ had no existence before birth except in the mind of God. That though Jesus was a perfect sinless man, he was only a man, not God.
Wierwille asserted that God and Jesus Christ are separate, independently-thinking entities who are literally father and son. He holds that Jesus Christ did not exist until God created a fertilized egg in Mary's womb and that he did not have any consciousness until she gave birth to him.
Regarding the Holy Spirit, Wierwille taught that there was a distinction between "The Holy Spirit" and "holy spirit". The former refers directly to God the Father while the latter refers to an emanation or power from God (a.k.a. "the gift of holy spirit")
Mark and Avoid
"Mark and Avoid" is a term for a form of shunning involving the separation of certain people from the main body of followers in the Way. The term is derived from the Biblical passage Romans 16:17 (King James Version, boldface added for emphasis)
The group has been alleged to use "love bombing" [3] to control its initiates.
I've also heard that this group preaches from door to door.
Errors in key points of Way scholarship, including: 1) Inaccurate translations of key Bible passages which include contradictory or false definitions of biblical words; 2) misrepresentation or ignorance of the early Church's views on the Trinity, Christ's deity etc.; 3) misuse of ancient Greek texts or use of unreliable research works, as well as the inaccurate theory that the whole New Testament was authored in Aramaic; 4) overstatement of their leaders' qualifications and unnoted textual changes in their books.

Why does the great crowd go to memorial?
by *jeremiah* in"do this in remembrance of me"...... ...those words jesus utters,..according to the wt,...is specifically for "the annointed",...right?.
if jesus at the last supper is speaking directly to "the annointed class",...that they should parttake and "do this in remembrance",...then why do the r & f even go to the memorial?.
looking at it through jw eyes,...jesus didn't invite members of "great crowd" to the last supper,...right?

Thanks MJ
At the original Last Supper, according to the WTS there were no "Great Crowd" members in existence, so there would not be any biblical precedent to follow in the first place.
Exactly,...and adding to that, according to the WTS, Jesus at the last supper was speaking to the anointed. Therefore,...even when the "great crowd" did come into existence,...there is still no biblical invitation for them to attend and observe.
I'm thinking this might be a good issue to bring up when confronted by JW's. It seems like there is no way they could come up with a solid answer.
I'm thinking about emailing my mother and brothers still in the borg and asking them a few questions regarding these issues.
i.e.- Mom, I recently saw this years Memorial invitation and it got me wondering. I decided to read all the scriptures surrounding the last supper.
I was wondering if you could tell me where your invitation to the memorial is in scripture?
Jesus is speaking to the anointed christians when he says "this do in remembrance of me",...meaning that the anointed christians should parttake of the emblems. If Jesus is speaking solely to the anointed, then where is the "great crowd's" invitation to the memorial? Jesus only had members of the anointed with him in the upper room.
Can you show me in scripture where the "great crowd" has the right to attend the memorial?

So, basically, I understand from the ex-JW frame of mind why the great crowd attends the memorial. I understand the diabolical nature of the cult and enslaving people, their minds, and taking their money.
Everyone's reasons why the great crowd attends the memorial have been accurate according to reality.
Yet,...what I'm concerned with is their reasons according to scripture. Do the JW's use scriptural proof that the great crowd is invited to the memorial to only observe?
The wt text that Blondie supplied is interesting but in those WT excerpts they don't offer any scriptural proof.
JW's are always wanting to show people how clear the bible is in regards to:
the trinity
paradise earth
God's name
refusal of blood
etc, etc......you know, they try to make it so black and white. I would like to see their answer to this.

Poll: Are You For Protests & Marches Against The Witnesses?
by minimus indo you support such marches around kingdom halls?
would you personally hold a sign up to protest the watchtower society??
do you believe this is ultimately effective to get jehovah's witnesses out of the organization??
-
*jeremiah*
Yes!
I've only participated once,....but I am pro peaceful protests/ marches/ picketting.
Is it effective?
The "spiritual" ones are going to say it's persecution,...but it just might cause those living on the fence to open their minds just a little bit more.
Even if a demonstration only helps to open up one persons mind in that cult then I personally think its a success.

nvrgnbk, I'm a huge arcade fire fan. Their new album Neon Bible is excellent. I'm more of a person that doesn't pay too much attention to lyrics but yesterday I was listening to them when I was driving and noticed semi JW or christian associated language in many of their songs. Track #7,...mentions the words,- resurrected,...lion and the lamb. Anyways,...I'm wondering what is behind their lyrics. I didn't quite understand your original post,...are the members of The Arcade Fire jw's?

Thanks Blondie,
Although the "great crowd" was identified in 1935 and the general calling said to be ended, the GC was not invited to the memorial until 1938........!!!!
*** w95 7/1 p. 15 par. 5 "The Israel of God" and the "Great Crowd" ***
In 1935 they were identified with the "great crowd" of Revelation chapter 7. In 1938 they were invited to attend the Memorial of the death of Jesus Christ as observers
*** w79 11/15 p. 27 par. 23 Benefiting from "One Mediator Between God and Men" ***
Today, according to authentic records, there is a "great crowd" of dedicated, baptized Christians who actively collaborate with the small remnant of spiritual Israelites. Ever since the spring of 1938 they have been invited to attend the annual memorial celebration of Christ’s death, not to partake of the memorial emblems, the unleavened bread and the red wine, but as respectful observers.
Of course,...I'm not reading the entirety of the above articles,...but I like how they really don't offer any solid biblical evidence for the change,....or any biblical evidence for that matter.
...and what is the correlation between Revelation chapter 7 and the great crowd being allowed to be observers at the memorial?
I just read Rev. chapter 7 and I personally don't see any correlation once so ever.
I just find it interesting how the WT gives other christian religions such a hard time about adopting traditions that cannot be found in the bible, yet,...there most holy event is that very thing which they supposedly detest.
The great crowd as observers is nowhere to be found in scripture.
If you are an active JW reading this, according to your own view of scripture, you should not be attending the memorial celebration.
