What Will The Future Bring? Where is the World Heading?
WHAT will the next 10, 20, or 30 years bring? It can be frightening to contemplate the future in this age of terrorism. Technology is booming. Globalization has made many nations interdependent. Will world leaders unite and pave the way for a brighter tomorrow? Some people say yes, hoping that by the year 2015, leaders will be able to stem the tide of poverty and hunger, reverse the spread of AIDS, and halve the proportion of those without access to safe drinking water and sanitation.
I was wondering where they got this date...2015. What people are saying that leaders will be able to stem the tide of poverty and hunger, etc, etc, by 2015? I'm wondering where they are getting this.
Maybe the WT's inside men in the UN are telling them this.
BTW-that whole article is weird. The WTS just finished the end of false religion campaign and gave most members the impression that this system can't possibly go on another year or two or even five. In fact we have all heard that they think the campaign just might start armageddon. Now look at the first sentence of the article. What will the next 10,20, or even 30 years bring?
....fishy. very fishy. not that that surprises me or anything, just pointing it out.

Nearing the end of its three-week tour of Guam, the International Pilgrim Statue of Our Lady of Fatima made its way yesterday to visit men and women who could desperately be seeking any of the good fortune that is said to follow the statue.

The Watchtower After Hours: Phone Sex!?
by Anitar inwell, it's good to know what the watchtower's priorities are these days.
they're facing dwindling numbers in the industrialized nations, a growing number of child abuse lawsuits, a pedophile database of over 23,000 members just waiting to be exposed, and what do they have on the front page of their website?
phone sex!!.

Sir82,
exactly what the heck kind of phone does that dude on the left have
Yeah, I think that guy likes to "kick it old school".
We need to 'pummel our body
I don't know if this is the best choice of words, I'm mean, after all isn't that what happens during phone sex? A light pummeling of gratification.

Is Mary becoming one kind of a bridge to unite religion?
Personally I see this trend in the news more and more. The Pope is currently in Turkey and here is an excerpt from a recent speech:
Benedict said in his sermon: "From here in Ephesus, a city blessed by the presence of Mary Most Holy -- who we know is loved and venerated also by Muslims -- let us lift up to the Lord a special prayer for peace between peoples."
The Koran describes Mary as the virgin mother of Jesus, whom Muslims consider the greatest prophet after Mohammed, and some Muslims -- especially women -- visit shrines to her.
Here is the entire article if interested: http://today.reuters.com/news/articlenews.aspx?type=newsOne&storyID=2006-11-29T132936Z_01_L28626797_RTRUKOC_0_US-POPE-TURKEY.xml&WTmodLoc=Home-C2-TopNews-newsOne-4
Muslisms, Catholics, and some Protestant denominations seem to be venerating her more and more. Many believe in her appearances (apparitions) throughout the world and tens of thousands make pilgrimages to those locations.
It seems as if the Pope can't seem to make a speech anymore without mentioning her. Some non-Catholic religions are beginning to follow the Catholic example of venerating Mary.
Here's another recent news article entitled "The Power of Mary": http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2006611260589
Thoughts,...comments?
Also, I wonder the role of cults in this emerging trend. I recently scanned the WT's article "Should you Pray to the Virgin Mary?" Apparently the WT's stance is in opposition to veneration of Mary at this time. I wonder, though, If Mary continues to appear and maybe performs some huge miracle, will cults like the WTS form "new light" to come to more of a venerable belief in her?

Society laying the groundwork for "new light"?
by sir82 inin the january 1 2007 wt, there is the following quote in one of the articles regarding the "first resurrection" (there are a few other posts on that article already):.
it seems that resurrected ones of the 24 elders group may be involved in communicating of divine truths today.. this may be the most significant sentence in the article (haven't read it in its entirety yet).
i don't recall seeing anything like it in print before.. seems to be laying the groundwork for a "flash of new light", to be exposed probably whenever the last of the 3 old-timers hanging on (barr, barber, jaracz) drop off:.

I agree, it sounds very much like spiritism. Maybe their occultic roots are going to be coming more and more outwardly apparent.
Alice Bailey was a turn of the century spirit medium who wrote a collection of books from a "higher power". She wrote much about a new age or a coming new world and a new enlightenment. The UN cherishes her work too.
I can't help but see parallels and I think the convergance of these type of ideas will only grow closer and closer together.

"Though seeing, they do not see;
though hearing, they do not hear or understand.-Jesus. Matt.1315 For this people's heart has become calloused;
they hardly hear with their ears,
and they have closed their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
hear with their ears,
understand with their hearts
and turn, and I would heal them.- Jesus, Matt. 13
