I was just reading "Will Good Triumph Over Evil" from the Jan.1st 2006 WT which is currently being promoted on wt.org.

Basically their solution is "taking in accurate knowledge". In other words, any of us can fall into evil unless we "take in accurate knowledge". Also, if you are currently evil "taking in accurate knowledge" will help one to overcome evil.

This comes from John 17:3 in their New World Trans. it says, “This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.” ( John 17:3 )

I looked in many other translations and most of them say something like,..." 3 Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent."

I see this "gaining or taking in accurate knowledge" concept as another tentacle the GB uses to enforce submission to their teachings and rules.

According to the JW's, how does one take in knowledge of God?

The answer is one we have all lived,....study the GB's literature, follow their commandments, believe in their doctrine,etc.etc., and that, and that alone is the only way to get to know the knowledge of God.

Is it unwise to have your real name and photo on JWD?

i googled jw something or other and one of my own topics came up first on the google search.

it caught me off guard.

i'm wondering, is it more wise to have an alias name and avatar photo?.

I understand many on JWD keep their identity hidden so that there is little chance of being found out from JW friends, family, elders, etc. That's not my worry though. I am thinking more along the lines any potential legalities the WTS could hold against me.

Is this possible, should I change to an alias?

Hey Anitar,

Yes, it appeared in the Awake Dec. 8, 2000. However it's on watchtower.org right now. When you pull up their home page look to the right side and scroll down a little bit. Its under "More Topics".

It's entitled, 'The Problems of Children-The Solution at Last'.

Besides what we have all been speaking of above, I find this article title really strange,..almost like a play on words. It almost reads to me, 'Children are Problems-The Solution at Last'.

well other then going out that is....lol...i was the one, i would say 8 times out of 10, that i was stuck talking to the men!

I hated that I had to miss out on watching G.I. Joe, The Transformers, and Voltron.

I also hated running into my friends from school. I was always so embarrassed wearing my tie and holding my little book bag. It was like, "$hit!, now I have some explaining to do the next time i see that kid."

Who is the wild beast in Revelation??

i have been trying to figure this out, as i do believe that revelation is written for our day.

and too, that it is inspired from god.

here some thoughts about the beast that i wrote down.. .

Oh yeah, the Roman Catholic Church,

some believe that she will be the "false prophet" who gives life to the Anti-Christ. Some also believe she is the Harlot who spearheads and drives the one world religion until the seven headed- ten horned beast destroys her when she is no longer of use.

Keep an eye on the RCC and decide for yourself what heck she's doing.

VATICAN: POPE'S PRAYER IN MOSQUE IS A 'NEW HORIZON' IN INTERFAITH

Rome, 7 Dec. (AKI) - Pope Benedict XVI's moment of prayer at Istanbul's Blue Mosque last week has opened up a "new horizon in interreligious dialogue" according to a top Italian Roman Catholic cleric, Monsignor Vincenzo Paglia. "For the first time a Pope appealed to God in a Mosque. Not even Pope John Paul II did it in the Damascus Mosque," Paglia said referring to the 2001 visit to Syria by Benedict's predecessor.

Paglia, who heads the Italian Bishop Conference's interreligious dialogue commission and is bishop of the central Italian town of Terni, made the remarks in an inteview published Thurday on the Rome-based daily Il Messaggero.

Benedict, before his election as pope in April 2005 and as Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger spoke out against what he called "relativism" - the trend to regard all religions as essentially equal - a conviction that according to Paglia has not wavered despite the pope's prayer in the mosque accompanied by Turkey's Muslim Grand Mufti.

"There is no contradiction and no concession to relativism and confusion. Interreligious dialogue must progress along well defined parallel paths without any space for syncretism

"The Pope did not pray together with the Mufti, but turning towards the East he prayed next to the Mufti and not in the same manner", Paglia explained.

"That of standing side-by-side represents how followers of different faiths can stand next to each other in prayer, which is the most pure act in any religion, and together can renew fraternity, peace and forgiveness. Those few minutes are the defeat of conflict between religions."

Paglia also dismissed the view expressed by some observers that Benedict's conciliatory stance in Turkey was aimed at rectifying the anti-Islamic interpretation given to a speech made in Germany in September.

"I wouldn't say so. With regards to the speech at the German university whe has gone to the hear of the matter. No change of view then. During this trip [to Turkey] all the things the Pope has said before have found their full meaning," Paglia concluded.

This whole plan in the bible is basically the forming of a one world government and one world religion eventually headed by one man who claims to be God,...the Anti-Christ.

The details are really a moot point. For example who are the ten kings?...., who or what are the seven heads? Well, that's all speculation and guess work at this time. Some believe that the world will follow the lead of the EU's formation. The world will be divided into seven or ten sectors or superstates and ten kings will rule over them. Three of the kings will be uprooted and the one who comes forth to replace the three will be the AntiChrist. He will perform miracles and guess what?...probably even resurrect a person or two. He will deceive as many as possible including the JW's who will probably begin believing that this is Christ now ruling visibly.

The Anti-Christ will proclaim to be God and sit in the Jew's newly built third temple. He will create a false peace amongst the Jews and Palestine,....and then, to make a long story short, Christ returns and every eye will see.

Yes they will Co-Co. That's why it's always exciting to watch the WT.

Another thing I think is very interesting about the WT's "Solution" in this article and in most of their articles is that there never seems to be a plan to attain that solution explained in the article. Where's the how? Apparently you only get to know the how after you accept the "free" home bible study and the JW's slowly introduce you to how one can attain this.

For example, most Christian denominations are not shy or even secretive when proclaiming their belief in how one attains salvation. Catholics will tell you, for the most part, you must believe in Christ, then,...their traditions, sacraments, going to church, the papal authority, etc. etc. Most protestant Christians will tell you, for the most part, without hesitation, that you must believe in Christ through faith alone to attain heaven or paradise.

Many times, JW literature always mentions and dwells on certain world problems and then skips our part, our role, our plan of salvation, to reach this paradise, and then they just explain the paradise.

Do Jehovah's Witnesses crave an 'Amish Paradise'?

from as long as i remember the watchtower society has painted an idyllic rural scene for their future existence on the planet earth, free from the non jehovah servers that live now.. my mother regularly talks about her 'little donkey and cart' that she's going to own in the 'new system of things'.. so do the jehovah's witnesses dream of living in an 'amish paradise' minus the amish, of course?.

do they have any idea what kind of nightmare existence that entails, especially adding on top of that five meetings a week, continuing fs, studying etc?.
