Had a NICE 20 minute conversation with an elder.....
by AK - Jeff ini was stupified that i was not shunned, as has been my treatment most of the time for the past 3 years.. i walked into the coffee-shop on my way home.
it was cold and i wanted a warm brew to keep me company.
as i approached the counter to order, a strangely familiar fellow was right in front of me.

It's nice when you find someone who is at least close to a "true friend" in the "truth".

Let it rip, or hold my tongue? What would you do?
by Confession inthe basic scoop: my best jw friend from michigan came into org with his wife when he was about 26 (he's about 45 now.
) he loved the org, but, aside from being a really cool and interesting guy, he also suffered from depression quite a lot.
more than 10 years ago he approached me about anti-jw stuff he found online.

I would talk about everything but WTS. It sounds like you guys have lots of history and lots to catch up on. The WTS will come up when its time and then I'd feel him out and tread lightly. I am also one who sufferes from depression and can tell you that WTS is at least partially responsible for my depression.

Did you ever go to Brooklyn to visit Bethel?
by JH inwhen i joined back in the mid 80's many in my congregation went to visit the bethel in brooklyn.. for some reason, i had no interest for that.. in the last years that i attended meetings, they didn't organize anything like that anymore.. i wonder why that changed?.

I've been a few times, even stayed in an apartment in 90 Sands building. Then stayed a week in Walkill in a vacation house for Bethelites in the mountans. It was very nice but if it weren't for my uncle being there for 30 years I don't know if I'd spend the money to go see it.

I want to post pics too but from what I'm seeing here maybe it'll be easier to send a paper copy to everyone and ask you to tape it to your computer screen when you read my post?

Help! I'm hooked!
by pmouse inwoe is me.
i reside in the deep south (atlanta ga area) and i have discovered the most wonderful, perfect, rich tasting cup of coffee ever.
during a business meeting raffle, i won a tin of tim horton's coffee (brought back as a result of a business trip by those higher up on the food chain).

Need advice from elders, former elders and anyone else for that matter.....
by nonamegiven inok, i've been df'd for 5 months or so now and i'm getting ready to write a letter requesting reinstatment.
i'm assuming something like "i know jah has already forgiven me so now i"m asking you imperfect sinners to forgive me my sins and give me my life back please".
wouldn't work.

I'm not actually expecting to be reinstated, but hopefull. I am sure I havn't served my time yet but I really don't think I can do it for another 6 or 7 months. For those who have read my past posts you know why I'm trying to do this but it's to the point now, I just don't know if I can. Every time I go to a meeting I get soo ticked off at how I'm treated. I come home from the meetings depressed and angry, my wife and kids (2 and 4) can even see it. I think if I keep going I'm going to loose it so I'm really going to try to lay it on thick in the hopes I can find a human being on my JC. If they say no and I don't immediatly take off, I'm thinking about submitting a letter every week or two.
