  Why Is It That Americans Here Never.....

  slag off us brits?.

  i read all these posts (mainly by a couple of cuddly norwegians) about how the us needs to get it's act together, then there's a flurry of ripostes, the occasional nasty dig, a few generalisations and then the whole thing peters out until some bright spark feels the urge to start off the mischief once again.. well, im sick and tired of belonging to a perfect race and living in a perfect country.

  the uk obviously has the best economy, the best soccer teams, the best monarchy, the best teeth, the best cuisine, the best weather, the best tv, the best armed forces, the best penal system, the best paranoids,.

  The Poms are the biggest wingers on earth. They've got the worst weather (pisses down every 8 seconds), the most boring cuisine (basically fish'n'chips) and the whole population is depressed and suffers from an acute inferior complex to us aussies, especially when it comes to sport.

  do you ignore topics that could possibly test your faith?

  how do you not wonder about your religion with all the information that is available to you now that proves this sekt invalid?

  Don't fall for that two card trick the Jw's always use on bible studies. You know, the one where they say you'll get a lot of opposition from non-believers or worldly people for studying with the JW's and they constantly shower you with kindness and intimate attention to win you over even if you're butt ugly and look like Marilyn Manson. If you believe them this far, you're basically sucked in, like i was until i came to my senses and then they started to give me the cold shoulder.

  Is this world ruled by Demons and are we?

  to me, one of the most pathetic and lamest of all watchtower teachings is the fantasy that satan and the demons rule the world.

  the witnesses are terrified of these demons getting into their minds through everything from wearing old clothes bought at the thrift store to smoking cigarettes (remember all drugs give demons easy access to your mind.).

  they would have you believe that each country on earth is controlled by really big mean and tough demons (hey demons cant be nice you know) and they are actively controlling the minds of the political leaders in a global chess game because they have nothing better to do.. i was wondering then if anyone can show me a single itsy bitsy tiny amount of evidence to show any credible physical evidence or logical/metaphysical reasoning to back the jw ideological boogey men.

  Of course he deserved the gold. Remember the story of the tortoise and the hare? Bradbury was initially hoping for a bronze and stayed back because he knew a couple of guys will fall. He's worked hard for 10 years recovering from a broken neck and a gash to the thigh from skating accident.

  what really turned me off the jw religion was the way they portray god as an elitist.

  their god was one where if you did what the watchtower told you to he'll bless you with everlasting life on a lush green planet with summer all year round surrounded by fit looking people who wear pearly white smiles 24/7 picking ripened fruit from a tree just out the front door.

  and if you did wrong, he'll come after you and pelt you will flaming rocks the size of golf balls and football fields.

Unless you conform or fit a certain mould that is prescribed you're destined to the scrap heap.

  Well, thank God the world is not as monotonous as that and that each one of us is different. As i've mentioned previously, people develop certain traits because of varying social, environmental and economic factors from the most generous charity worker to the most hardened criminals. Ever since i've stopped studying the JW propaganda, i've come to appreciate that there is a God that understands each of us individually and why we are the way we are rather than the judgemental Big Brother type who incinerates people if you don't follow the borg.
  Thank god for diversity.

  how did you feel when you first learn the real truth about jehovahs witnesses.. was it a relief did you feel excited about all the things you were going to do or try?.

  or did you feel absolutely gutted , years down the drain, no paradise you won't see your dead parents again?.

  I was a worldly person before i became a bible study and now i've reverted back to the world that is so despised by them. After leaving the watch tower society i initially felt guilty but when began to see through the organisation, i felt extremely relieved to have left.
  I just didn't understand the fact that they proclaim to have the truth but they don't allow scrutiny of their beliefs by their members. How can you prove that it is the truth when you bar members from looking at material from other religions and independant sources? If it is the truth it would be able to stand by itself, people will revert back to it. Why do they only examine material from the WTBTS and nothing else. It was just propaganda.
  I also didn't like the way people put on fake smiles all the time and what kind of a religion believes in a god that is a vindictive bully.
  And don't even get me started on the hypocrisy.
  What i believe now is that the real God understands the dynamics of society and people develop certain traits because of one reason or another. The Queen mother is a nice gentle person because of one reason or another. A serial killer becomes like that because of one reason or another. I am relieved knowing that there is a god that understands why people are the way they are and one that doesn't pulverise peole because they don't follow an organisation's teachings.
