Found: planet that may hold the key to life beyond our solar system
by zagor inhttp://news.independent.co.uk/sci_tech/article2758835.ece .
it is a world where one side of the planet is bathed in perpetual daylight while the other is kept in infinite night.
here, an entire year passes in just over 48 hours and surface temperatures are hot enough to melt lead.

I'm sure liquid water could exist in the twilight area of the planet. An area with only a bit of light, but not so dark as to be cold.
Very interesting science finding out about the water tho. -

When you have a problem....
by lisavegas420 inwho do you turn to?
do you go to your spouse?
what if the problem is with your spouse, do you talk to your parents, siblings, work associates, doctor?
-

I have no spouse or kids, but I can still answer the ones that apply to me!
Any problems I have, I always talk to my freinds. They make me feel better about it.
I don't really think I'm burdening them...I'm happy when they discuss thier problems with me, and we all do our best to help each other. -

I heard lots about it from nerds on forums, and we happen to have BBCAmerica.
So I watched it and love it. -

E3 2007 - For the Gamers
by doinmypart inhave any gamers been keeping up with this year's e3 news (xbox 360, ps3, wii, pc)?.
a few games on my wishlist are mass effect, call of duty 4, assassin's creed, and of course halo 3. so many of the game trailers look good, i can hardly wait for the releases.
i've pre-ordered too many games, i'll be broke by the end of the year!.

I have a Wii.
I was a bit disapointed, because I'm technically a 'hardcore' gamer.
Microsoft is impressing me, they've got a buncha nice games comming out.
Sony however, I will despise forever for no reason :P . But I have to admit, Lair looks REALLY nice. But that one guy during thier presentation just annoys me to no end. He tries to be clever and funny and fails completely.
Even so, I'm a loyal Nintendoian, and am pleased that they are catching up to the Xbox 360, and utterly destroying the PS3. -

What If Artificial Intelligence Never comes?
by metatron inhttp://www.technologyreview.com/printer_friendly_article.aspx?id=18867.
i wonder....... speaking hypothetically, suppose that science is never able to create artificial .
intelligence.

Doing it with software won't work.
When a machine can build electronic pathways (same as neuro pathways), then we'll have artificial intelligence.
It might take a program to govern the building of the pathways, but alone, software is not enough.
