Anonymous = Modesty
by Perry ini asked my mother one time why no one ever signed the articles that were written in the wt and awake.
she said that were just being modest and did not want to receive undo praise for themselves but wanted to direct all the attention to jehovah and that they were really proving themselves to be discreeet.. do jw's still repeat this reason?

Will I go to hell?
by Anony-Mouse ina freind of mine (over the internet) has been debating with me about whether or not i will go to hell.
being the great freind he is, he says i am absolutely bound for hell, simply because i don't believe in god anymore.
john 3:16,17 says something or other about only people believing will be saved or somesuch.

Oh well!
I guess I'll get no mercy, LittleToe.
God's standards are too high for lowly folk like myself. So I'm doomed.
I quoted that philosophy from another post on this forum. I just loved it. But now lastelf is giving me...hell....pun intended.
But don't bash him. I'm totally cool with everything he says. -

This freind of mine is looking for more than just your word on it.
He's really picky (it's news to me!) about this, and wants proof from the bible or something. Logic doesnt cut it for him, lol.
I've never had a freind so determined to proove I'm going to hell!
I think the entire situation is hilarious, but thats just me. -

I personally think, that even if god does exist, he would take into consideration my life circumstances, my personal view on the world (which is pretty good. I hold every life in the highest regard, I try my best to make others happy), and maybe cut me some slack.
Eph 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,
Eph 2:9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. -

I'm setting myself up for embarassment here....but I must know...
If I were that cashier, I might have done that same thing.
The way I see it, if you need $10.91, and you give me a dime back, you get $10.81.
Now, if you had said "Keep the change" then I'd have given you just the $10.
10.91 - .10 = 10.81 -

The Mr. T video has a slash at the end of the link. If this site uses HTML, I'll give a crack at it.

Personally, I thought it was kinda funny.
Here's the copy/pastable link in case I did it wrong: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_rBidCkJxo -

Growing up JW
by startingover ingrowing up a jw, i was well aware that a lot of people didn't care for my religion, especially growing up in a strong catholic community in the 60's.
my being a jw wasn't something i advertised, especially in my school days.
but that feeling was always there, that i was someone, who because of my religion, was disliked, even hated.. i sit here thinking what it would have been like to have grown up without those feelings.

I'm 17.
But I didn't really do any 'research' in the way you're thinking.
I have a general love for science. I've read science stuff since I could...well, read.
I dabbled around with evolution, understood its concept, and never gave it a thought. I accepted that the entire scientific community accepted it as fact. Then I did some deep research on it, and found out it makes perfect sense.
And the JW magazine's explainations were absolutely horrid. There was nothing in it that could convince a scientist to rethink evolution. It, in fact gives the "odds" of evolution at occuring at something like 17 trillion to one. Which, if you think about it, is a garuntee, several times over.
*science junk follows*
Factor in all the 'primordial puddles' the earth could contain. Factor in that there are 3 'possible' planets that life could evolve in our solar system (and a couple promising moons ;) ). And that there are untold amounts of stars, each capable of sustaining planets (planets are being discovered at a rate not thought possible years ago), and then multiply your findings by the number of galaxies, which have yet to be counted.

DNA For Dummies
by Farkel indna for dummies.
it would be remiss of me to not state that i know absolutely nothing about dna, except that the abbreviation points to a collection of words that no one can pronounce: it means something like "deoxygenated ribo-rabid-nucleaic acid trip", or something like that.
i first heard about dna in 1964 in a high school biology class and promptly went comotose.

That's a good representation of early evolution theory. Close enough, at least.
But one flaw: Women ARE better than men, and it's all men's fault :P .
At least, as far as my knowledge of early evolution goes...
