  Your most hated Kingdom Songs ever...

  we all know that skilled songwriters the brothers are not, so what are your most hated kingdom songs?

  the ones that made you cringe when you saw them listed on the km or watchtower?

  In reply to the "ignominious" in a song, the word means involving total loss of dignity... The word is not that common, especially among janitors and window washers like Jehovah's Witlesses are

  Exactly! That's why I would deliberately stop singing at that point in the song just to laugh at the unintelligible babble. You would think that when you come across a word alien to you, you'd look it up in the dictionary and check the pronounciation ... I guess the Witless Dictionary doesn't contain that word.

  My online friend who was baptized at 12 years old has finally decided she couldn't make it as a JW anymore. With 2 DFs and major depression under her belt, no longer will she be living her life for the elders. She says she's going to enjoy her life "until Armageddon comes" since she's a goner anyway (serving Jehovah with wrong motivation, not out of love).

  Her father recently died, and she's waiting a little before making her decision known to her mom ... for obvious reasons.

  At first I doubted whether my reasoning got through to her, but after our conversation today she thanked me. She said she always enjoys speaking with me ... that really warmed my heart.

  Help from elders?

  so as an elder, if you have left or are fading now, what specific things made you change your mind?

  is there some thing that most regular meeting goers would not be privy to that made you change?

  i know that you had your elder book, was there stuff in there that was out of line that made you stop and go "no way!"?.

  No, I did not even 'dedicate myself in prayer', and when I was asked this, I made up a date

  Ditto!! I NEVER dedicated myself in prayer prior to my baptism. As a matter of fact, the elders never even asked! I was absolutely clueless about this particular requirement of baptism until years later when it was explained in an Assembly baptism talk. Additionially, I was baptised as a baby and never wrote any letter of renouncement.

  Those are the main reasons I chose not to recognize my baptism.

  Oh gosh! Song #61 was the absolute worst ... nobody knew how to pronounce ig-no-min-i-ous-ly! (who uses that word anyways?) That part of the song usually turned to unintelligible drivel ... then again the whole song is unintelligible drivel.

  As for song #102 (The Resurrection Joy) - The brothers would draaaaaag the life out of that already lifeless song! 99.9% of the times they'd get the melody wrong too.

  Song #204 (Here I Am! Send Me) - I hated this song with a passion! I didn't want to be sent anywhere!

  Confused!! Help!!

  ok so here goes...ive fallen for a guy, who seems perfect for me, everything ive ever wanted in a man, kind, sensitive, caring and reliable.

  only problem is, he is not a jw and i sort of am, sort of meaning, i was brought up in the truth i have gone through rebelious stages and just passed them off as wanting to experience, i nearly married a jw but the night before the wedding he called it off and said he wasnt ready (we had sleot with each other beforehand, so he prob didnt see the point in going ahead anymore!

  I couldn't have said it better myself! I'm a faded JW ... technically "unevenly yoked", and wouldn't give my husband up for anything. Your BF sounds like an everyday, normal guy with normal concerns to me. Only JWs would consider that as being materialistic. Fading has allowed me the latitude to associate with my JW family (those that I wish to be around).

  Keep in mind too that if your desire is to be married and start a family, it's very slim pickings for sisters in JW Land. You may give up this opportunity for someone who'll dump you like a hot potato should you break any JW rules in the future. The love shown by JWs is mostly conditional.

  Did the time come when it became unbearable to walk in the Kingdom Hall?

  i didn't attend any meetings in the month of august.

  i worked too many hours and i just don't care any longer.

  just the thought of driving 45 minutes,greeting brothers and sisters who don't really care about each other,singing the dreadful songs,listening to the boring talk(which are repeats of a repeat),going over the slanted watchtower study and then driving another 45 minutes home.. how did you feel when you knew that it was becoming unbearable to attend another meeting?.

  Meeting attendance was unbearable for me LONG before I began fading. The whole charade of fakedom, I couldn't stand it anymore; I stopped "cold turkey". At first I felt a bit guilty, but soon enough I came to my senses ... hey, this is MY life! Why should I live my life concerned with the outward appearance? The Pharisees were condemned for doing just that!

  watch 74 p.167 "by disobediently overindulging in food and making a glutton of himself, he fails to show love for jehovah god...is food a big thing in his life?

  if in the presents of others, does he selfishly ignore thier needs and take far more then his share?

  is he grossly overweight but shows no restraint at all as to food, habitually gorging himself?

  Witnessing- A women threw Awake back at me due to homosexuals article!

  out witnessing a year ago i left the awake in a letterbox since no one was home and i hate missing people and wasting time.

  It's funny how we sugar over our words when out preaching but hate the "Worldly" folks when we are alone.

  And these are the very same "worldly" people whom JWs want to accept the "Truth". The very same individuals JWs aren't allowed to associate with. Couldn't get any more cultish than that.

  Wow! Talk about "strain out the gnat and swallow down the camel"! Christians are urged to love even their enemies, but here it is a mother is chastised for loving her own son. This may be the very son who will take care of her in a time of distress, while the congregation turns a blind eye.
