Does paradise still seem attractive to you?
by Hiddenwindow indo you think paradise, as depicted by the watchtower, an everlasting life praising jehovah and playing with what we now know as wild animals, not to mention cultivating a piece of land, is really a desirable place?
bear in mind that there is no reference to science and that personal goals are non-existent..

What could ever be attractive about spending eternity in a worldwide Kingdumb Hell, where no one has an education, and no skills other than janitorial/ window washer. A place with no good music, dancing or singing, or entertainment.
Count me out please!

Has WTS abandoned "house to house" ministry?
by ozziepost inmany years ago now i remember hearing harold king sing the song he had composed whilst incarcerated for his beliefs in china; it was called "house to house".. nowadays it doesn't seem as though it's in favor.
notice its own description of its ministry which the wts has placed on its website:.
jehovah's witnesses are probably best known for their person-to-person ministry.

So much for the "urgency" of the preaching work! Once a year? In this "time of the end"? Maybe they should stipulate that field service be once a year instead. After all, there's ample time for it.

the direct counsel Paul gave regarding Christian widows. Paul wrote: "She is free to be married to whom she wants, only in the Lord." (1 Corinthians 7:39)
This topic personally irks me all the time. Anyone reading Corinthians chapter 7 in its entirety will realize how specific Paul was in giving his advice. He specified between his advice and directives from the Lord. "Marry in the Lord" was only referring to widows, when it came to virgins Paul stated that he had no directive from the Lord.
Of course the Watchtower creates their own meaning, once again totally out of context.

JW's kids must NOT attend nursery school
by aligot ripounsous ini thought that after some 30 years as a jw the wts's teaching is so familiar that i can hardly find anything new in assembly talks, which may be the reason why, as many attendants do, i gently noze down and opening an eye from time to time is enough to catch up the drift of an all too well known talk.
still, i've been genuinely surprised last sunday by a point a bethel visitor rose in one of the p.m talks, namely that jws are not advised to send their kids to school until an age when he (she) can take a personal stand re.
xmas, birthdays, etc.

I wonder if this speaker himself is a father. Pre-school plays a very important role in child development. Sending a child to school for the first time at age 6 can be quite traumatic for both child and parent.
What about the importance of developing social skills? Ooops ... my bad ... taking a stand in order to stick out like a sore thumb is more important to one's 'eternal life'.

Mr. FFM was never a JW, and isn't the least bit interested in anything JW. He knows I'm regularly on this forum, but never asked any questions about it.

At the time I decided to leave, I really wasn't questioning the faith as it were ... I was just FED UP!! Plain and simple. The questioning began after my fading began, and from what I've learned I believe I made the right decision. I've got absolutely no regrets. Nothing to lose, everything to gain.
