OTWO - It's very easy to send mixed signals to someone you love when you're unsure about how they feel about you. Besides, isn't the guy also guilty of sending out mixed signals? As she says, he treats her well ... but then turns around and says he's not sure about how he feels about her? That certainly is a mixed signal!

the group's Assistant says "Who?" with a big shit-eating grin on his face. As if they haven't been to a meeting in so long we don't know who they are anymore.
That's the same dumb attitude that got my goat every time it happened. Can you just FEEL the love?

Sometimes them loosing what they have is enough to make them realise what a good thing they had.
I couldn't have said better! Sometimes we all may need a little push in order to make up our minds about something or the other. I agree with the other posters that a year is a long time ... more than enough to know how you feel about someone. Even if he doesn't SAY he loves you, how can he SHOW it, but then turn around and say he's not sure how he feels? I think moving on may be therapeutic for the both of you.

working for JW's
by arker inas a jw i mainly worked for brothers.
a lot seem to be in the construction industry.
probably because they are uneducated, because anyone who does work construction (like me) is stuck in it.

Imagine having a landlord that would make sure you are always at the meetings, no matter how crappy they treat you.
That's the very reason I'll NEVER entertain the thought of working for, or renting from a JW. If it's one thing I can't stand is invasion of privacy. Someone checking up on my meeting attendance from the inside doesn't appeal to me at all!

Interesting tidbit from a bethalite
by Princess Daisy Boo inso my "bethalite" sister calls me last night for a chat (now i must digress slightly and say that conversations with my sister are few and far between - we have very little to say to each other and any calls to each other are merely out of duty) .
after all the small talk, she tells me that she was doing stocktake in the tuckshop for a change instead of the usual housekeeping job that she is meant to do.
i ask her why and she tells me that all the dept's within bethal who keep a supply of products have to do a stocktake in preparation for the big courtcase on friday.

The US has strict equal opportunity laws, if this was to happen there it would rock the WTS to the core.
What a pity the tidbit wasn't about the Crooklyn Beth-Hell. They would've had to allow other races into the GB right? That would be sooo interesting.

Fading? What's up?
by arker ini was a jw, finally saw my chance and wrote a letter to the elders saying how bad i am and how i don't want to meet to discuss it and to df me if you want.
that was the end of it for me.
my question is if you know you are "fading" you are already gone so why not make the leap?

My main reason for not DA'ing is because of family members. It's not like I don't want to DA sometimes ... I do think about doing it, but it may be doing more harm than good in my case. I did a more or less sudden and complete fade - no more FS, meetings etc.

You'll get smothered by Holy Spirit if you aren't of the appointed elder class!!!
I'd much prefer to be smothered in chocolate sauce, but since I'm not a member of the "appointed elder class|" ... what do the members of the Frequent Fader Class get?
Thanks for the link Atlantis!

Elders really can keep personal matters confidential, right?
by oompa inless than one week after meeting with two elders who had been told of my visiting this site, a good friend called me.
he said his mother (age 73), in a different city from me, called him and told him she heard i was now an apostate.
now how the hell did that happen?

Anyone else had elders blab about them? I guess it is human nature.
How else would the elderettes get their weekly dose of gossip? I remember an elderette who once told us that she asks her husband outright to identify those from the "local needs" parts. Her excuse? She didn't want to go around "marking" the wrong person!

It's slim pickings in dub land
It certainly is slim pickings for sisters! More men than women are baptized into the Borg every year.
I even knew of a sister who committed suicide since she thought she would never have a husband and family. She was desperate to get married, and was soooo upset that other sisters were turning brothers offers down while she was never approached even once. When she began exhibiting symptoms of menopause, she couldn't take it anymore. She went out in FS that morning, then came home and poisoned herself.
