Agnostic/Atheist/Religion
by Free ini feel that since i have lost all faith in the society, i feel myself drifting further and further into more agnosticism / atheistic thinking.i am finding it harder every day to believe in a god or holy scripture.
i actually feel more at peace now not feeling like someone is watching me.
religion now rings a wicked song in my head that sings of control, power, money, greed, and endless seas of falsehood.

Hi Free
I feel exactly the same way you do. The Jw's have turned me off all religions and I no longer believe in God

Finally posted my d'a letter today
by dobbie ini wrote my d'a letter several weeks ago, then my husband talked me out of posting it.
however, with xmas coming up i didn't want to be looking over my shoulder all the time when xmas shopping, in case a dub was about, and that if it comes to it, i'd rather d'a myself than have them'kick' me out for whatever reason they can find.plus i'm fed up with waiting for the axe to fall and i just want some closure on all this.
the only reason i have given them for my leaving is that i know i would give my children blood if the need arose so don't see the point in going to meetings and pretending, when god knows how i feel anyway.

Hi Dobbie
Congrats on what is the best decision of your life. I was disfellowshipped 8 years ago & have never felt so free! You have done the right thing & hopefully your husband will have the guts to do it at some stage too. It is a very brave thing to do so think of yourself as one of the lucky ones that actually had the courage to go through with it. All the best in living your life the way you want to.

Thanks everyone for your advice. Even though I know things will never be normal with my family again I'm pretty sure I'm doing the right thing by letting them see my son. I'm the one with the control now. They know that if they slip up they will never see him again. I just don't want my son to get to the age where he knows whats going on & I have to pull him away from them. I know they will never leave the religion even though only 1 of their 4 kids still attends the meetings. At the end of the day I feel good that since I have been disfellowshipped I have done right by them I invited them to my Engagement & Wedding even though I knew they wouldn't come and I'm the one that has had the guts to try & fix things. Anyway thanks again for your support & I'll keep you posted, Lu

Part of me hates them for the way they treated me & part of me wants them back in my life. I told them that they would only see their grandchild if me and my Husband are welcome at their house as a family & they agreed. I want to do what is best for my child & i'm not sure weather he is better off with them in his life or not. Should I expose my child to his Grandparents that I'm sure will love him but are brainwashed & treated me as they did?
