What's it with those guys from Uzbekistan, anyway?
Way to defend home, buddy!
are dub bulbs just a little dimmer than the general population?
here's a little highlight from this week's local service meeting that prompts my question.. it's the annual, 20 minute, robotic hand-pumping session conducted by the secretary trying to get everyone all hyped/guilted up for this summer's district convention.
anyway, towards the end of the q&a, there's a paragraph that talks about offering a ride to the elderly/infirm ones in your congo.

Evansville, In or CanCun?
OMG! That is a tough decision. Maybe you could make it easier just by deciding if you'd rather be bored out of your friggin skull or captivated by a tropical paradise. I don't know, maybe that will help...
where is the proof that they are god's chosen faith?!
that just sounds pomp*ass*!
sorry so many questions, i'm seeing my inlaws this weekend and need a little reinforcements!
There isn't any proof. They claim they are God's representatives and since God hasn't seen fit to clear the matter up, they are still going about their business, mucking up other people's lives.
However, there's a long, storied history of those who claim to be a representative of God. I think one of the most notable, fairly recent examples would be Jim Jones.
i just read in another thread that jws don't usually freely admit they are witnesses.
i've seen this done before and wondered why is that?
is this part of the persecution invitation?
It isn't something conscious so much, in my opinion. Because when I was active, intellectually, I believed I was very proud to be a witness, one of the chosen, the few, the elite. But I would still hesitate in many situations, especially where there were more than one person who would hear me.
Now, I think it's because of shame. Subconsciously, I think I was ashamed that I didn't have good answers for why I didn't celebrate Christmas or birthdays, why I didn't accept non-military public service, why I didn't give to charities, and so many other issues. I felt that I understood most of these issues well enough, but they were so convolulted and let's face it, petty that I didn't want to have to explain them to any more people than I absolutely had to.
i am ripping off a topic from someone else.
no need to tell your name just the meaning and does it describe you?.
here is mine:.

i was at my daughters school this morning to look into her accounts(lunch money/milk money) and making sure she had enough.
given the knowledge that my daughter has more than the usual student - sadly i asked, if there was aid for some kids in need.
expressing that there is aid, however, it's only for lunch, as some students don't have breakfast and go to school hungry.
That's a sweet thing to do.
i cannot tell you my name because i am a fader.
i am starting this thread since low-key lysmith and momzcrazy were very surprised they are here on jwd on my thread about what congregations they have attended in their lifetime, so who knows we might be surprised for more online reunions.
Abandoned, That song was written for Leon, the Mad Hatter. He could never remember the girls' names that he had been with. He always called me Chantilly Lace because he couldn't remember Chaunte'
I never knew that.
But, it sounds like a very interesting story waiting to be told.... *waiting patiently*

Ummm, you have one of the names twice.....

" imagine when you are in the new system in a beautiful place, you will be able to look back and think ' wow!
i had a good share in the preaching work and was part of fulfilling mat 24:14".
In my experience, they live in the past and the future, but not in the present. A fertile ground for mental illness.
Excellent point. I'm getting therapy to deal with all that crap.

Besides the fader's aspect, there's also the similarity between your thread title and What's Your Name by Lynyrd Skynyrd. It's an awesome song, but with the sexual abuse issues in the congregation, "what's your name little girl" just sounds creepy.
