  Just bought a NIV- whose name should I call on, Jesus or Jehovah?

  i'm reading romans currently and as a life long witness and nwt reader i've always read romans 10:13 as "anyone calling on the name of jehovah will be saved'.

  niv says "jesus" and the context seems to suppoet this quite clearly.

  could anyone please comment on this??

  there was a disfellowshipped jw that came to the witness now for jesus convention in pennsylvania.

  we all tried to show him the error of the jw way but he is just so blinded that he couldn't understand what the problem is with jws (can you believe it?!

  ) we tried until we were blue in the face and it seemed that with every step we went forward with him one day, we went back two the next.

The response of the majority: they attributed his power to Satan, rejected him as Messiah and arranged for his murder based on false testimony...Talk about being deceived!

  This spiritual blindness still exists 2000 years later. This letter you received is a testimony to this fact. Know this fact, deep down in your heart, that if John's eyes were to be opened he would be horrified by what he wrote. Don't take it personally and continue to pray for him! You just never know if one day he will wake up and realize the truth.

  I met an ex jw at church today!

  i recently wrote an email to my pastor and let him know of my story and journey up until this point.. he thanked me for blessing him with my story and had stated that he was praying for me and my situation and my 3 children.

  he was very encouraging, positive, and loving.

  after getting his quick response, i received another email from him stating that he had just received an email from another ex jw and how similar her story was to mine.

  Remember that the WT falsely inserts Jehovah into the Greek Scriptures, supposedly wherever an OT quote is being made (although they skipped the ones where that would disagree with their theology). However, this is an instance where the context would actually be a good indicator of the deity of Christ--that is, it is a New Testament scripture applying to CHRIST that previously applied to JEHOVAH.

  I hope you enjoy reading through Romans. Chapter 8 is one of my favourites: "There is now NO condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus..." That is present tense!

  Met anyone Famous? What were they Like?

  I've met MOUTHY from JWD--very down to earth and loveable!

  When I was a kid, I met the Bay City Rollers in Scotland, they were walking down a lane near my house and stopped to ask if I knew where so and so lived. It was a bizarre experience!

  I also have spent time with Steve Green, who is a well-known musician in Christian circles. He was everything you would expect from a disciple of Jesus--humble, loving, gentle and kind. I even had my photo taken with him!

When you realize the amount of time that would have been put into this by a professional looking company, it makes you wonder--who were the producers and couldn't they find something better to do?

  interesting read for skeptics and believers alike.... my personal fave is the picture in the knowledge book on page 132 (i think) showing jehovah in the clouds.

  if you fold the picture three ways, you see a skull in the clouds on top of a pyramid.

  Have there been any cloaks discovered by the housekeeping girls? or unexplained disappearances of pets in Brooklyn?

  But if his conclusion is true, then it pretty well discredits the organization from being directed by the holy spirit. If you read the Bible, Jehovah knew who was dabbling and exposed them openly. Plus Israel didn't exactly try to hide its false worship...

  ive been "in the truth" ever since i was 6 years old when my mother was baptised in the late 70`s.

  so i sort of got dragged along to the meetings and therin started the indoctrination that was to prove to be my undoing.

  ive been reading this page for a while now and read some very slick posts from dissillusioned ex members.
