Can we see a picture of you, JCanon? If you're really the Messiah, I for one would love to see you.

Question for Jcannon.
by Asheron inhello my friend,.
i was reading through a few of your past posts in an effort to get to know the christ better and i have a question.
according to one of your posts from 2003 you tell us that being publically ridiculed or disbelieved by apostates is a fullfilment of prophesy.

Counselled for nodding at a df'd person
by keyser soze ini remember this happening to my dad, when i was just a kid.
there was a disfellowshipped brother in the cong, whom my dad had been friends with.
before the meeting, my dad just nodded hello to him, didn't even say the word.

Missing Link- I totally agree. I mean, we weren't allowed to talk to disfellowshipped ones, yet Jesus got a foot rub from a hooker.
Hmmm- confusing?

Confusion about Bible reading
by faundy inthe society seems to make a huge thing about reading the bible daily, and yet they have a problem when people do so without the 'aids' - i.e the publications.
so is bible reading on its own frowned upon?
i never did it anyway, it was boring.

JW Elder steals money from family and nothing is done - Anglesey UK
by Sirona inthis whole scenario is typical of the jw organisation sticking up for elders who do horrible things.. an elder from the anglesey congregation - one of 9 siblings - decided to join forces with one other sibling to make sure that the other siblings didn't get their inheritance.
he and his brother manipulated the matriarch of the family before she died, whilst she was gravely ill, and made sure that the rest of the family never saw the inheritance that was rightfully theirs.. he went so far as to restrict access to the house she lived in by changing locks etc.
so that her sons and daughters could not see her on her deathbed.. when she finally died, it was revealed that he and his brother had siphoned the money off and took possession of the property so that no other sibling could benefit.. they even had their own wake after the funeral service itself - to which the other siblings were not invited.. when this was reported to the co and congregation elders, they promised to investigate.

Welcome to the board, Str8.
From one queer to another, let me just say that I know exactly how you must have felt all that time, feeling you were living a double life, wanting to do the 'right' thing, when all the time you felt your heart was tearing you the wrong way.
I very rarely comment on the board these days, I became somewhat disillusioned with the attitude of some of the people here. So let me warn you:
Most people here are wonderful, caring souls who accept everyone for who they are and offer support, love and interesting banter (as well as some cheeky humour and occasional flirting...), but unfortunately there are some who would like to act like elders, berating your new lifestyle and trying to get you to 'embrace Jesus' once again.
Ignore them. Don't feel you have to justify anything any more. You're no longer in a place where you have to report back anything or explain yourself.
Be happy, be as gay as you like, and laugh at the bigots who have no idea what it's like to be yourself. -

Please Share your Experiences of Abusive Judicial Committee Meetings
by flipper ini had noticed on the board recently of several posters mentioning what they , or someone they know has gone through being brought before a jehovah's witness judicial committee - so i thought it would be good to share experiences so we all can get an idea of what has worked for some of you in dealing with it , and also methods to use when dealing with the elders , and it might open some lurkers eyes to the injustices suffered by many - which by the way usually isn't discussed in the rank and file witnesses .
many of you know my experience - so i will be brief.
long story short i was inactive for 3 and a half years , scripturally free to remarry , had not attended meetings for that long.

I'm still waiting for a JC, or perhaps they had it and I wasn't there. Kind of gutted really, it would have been fun.

Just had a thought....
by faundy indoesn't the concept of armageddon negate free will?.
it's like saying "you can do what you want, but it's my way or the highway".
sorry if this has been discussed before, just sat at my desk, about to start work, and i had a thought..
