Women (moms) in their 40's and 50's seem to be the most delusional of all Jehovah's Witnesses. Their mind just can't grasp...

Saw my dad last night...
by tall penguin ina few weeks ago i had a conversation with my mother (still a jw).
she told me that one of my fave elders, who was disfellowshipped a few months before i disassociated three years ago, just got reinstated.
now, to know my mother is to know that she doesn't give you information unless she has an underlying motive.

Phone Conversation With My Dad (Elder)...
by deaconbluez ini got so pissed off yesterday after this phone conversation...he's such a sweet man, but very much under the control of the watchtower.
we both agreed that we missed each other and would love nothing more than to be able to do some stuff together and have a relationship, but he said, "that's all up to you.
well if that's the case, let's plan a trip or something in the next couple of weeks.

If I was about to lose someone I loved I'd make the time to do the research. Can't he take a day off work and allocate the time to doing research? Not even for the sake of his family?
I agree. When he says that, I am often just shocked.
But the one thing that he is more devoted to than the Watchtower...is his job. So it really makes sense. Every waking moment of his is spent either working or preparing parts for meetings.

I got so pissed off yesterday after this phone conversation...he's such a sweet man, but very much under the control of the Watchtower. We both agreed that we missed each other and would love nothing more than to be able to do some stuff together and have a relationship, but he said, "That's all up to you." And I said, "Oh really? Well if that's the case, let's plan a trip or something in the next couple of weeks." And he said, "Well there's more to it than that." I said, "You mean I've got to become a Witness again in order for us to have a relationship?" And he said, "Well...when you put it like that it doesn't sound right." And I said, "DAD, THAT'S BECAUSE IT ISN'T RIGHT." His same old reply to everything at that point: "Well we just see things differently, and I just hope that one day you can change your point of view."
It's just so frustrating that there is NO comprehension of thought when talking to a Witness.
I told him that in order for me to go back to being an active Witness, I would have to profess to believe things that I know are wrong and unscriptural. He said, "Well those things don't really matter...what matters is that our DOCTRINES don't change...they'll always be the same." So I brought up that the 1914 teaching is the bedrock of ALL Witness teachings, and the "generation of 1914" teaching was just totally changed in the last year, which makes the 3rd or 4th time that it has changed total. And yet again, his response, "Well I don't know about all that, and I don't have time to do all the research that you have...so we'll just have to disagree on that."So frustrating. 2 Thess. 2:11 is proving to be so true in the case of my parents and other family: "For this reason, God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false." Great job! Who's voice is that on the video? That's a real good voice - professional quality. There could be a career in broadcasting for that person. He sounds very credible.
LOL thanks. That's me. I've been in radio for 14 years now, as well as the commercial voiceover business. Thanks again!

The drivel that comes from Witnesses these days is getting more and more pathetic. At no time during this kid's rant did he make any coherent application of Scripture. "Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks" has NOTHING to do with what he was accusing V of. Jesus was talking about inner motives and how a true person's values can be determined by the things they say.
And for him to say that there is no scriptural support for what V is doing, that's just more evidence that he should try reading more of the Bible and less Watchtower magazines. Scriptures like Ephesians 5:12 and Romans 12:21 implore all Christians to expose falsehoods, ESPECIALLY when the falsehoods are being presented as truth from "God's channel". And then there was this one guy named Jesus whose dialog with the Pharisees constantly pointed out their hypocrisy, not only to the Pharisees themselves, but to all in Judea who lived under their religious control.
By the way V, very classy and intelligent reply. You've got a lot more patience than me. -

The Generation Atop The Skyscraper
by TD inone of the most famous photographs taken by the late charles c ebbets showed workmen casually eating lunch on the 69th floor of the ge building during the contruction of rockefeller center.
this photo was taken 76 years ago, in the summer of 1932. a lot has changed since then.
many of the buildings you see below don't exist anymore.

I see what you're saying about the age of the people in the picture, but don't forget that the Watchtower has cleverly adjusted doctrine so that they are no longer held to time/date restraints in connection with Armageddon. They changed the generation teaching so that it NO LONGER is connected to a group of people living at a certain time, namely 1914. AND they changed their 1935 "anointed cut-off" teaching, so that now it is acceptable and expected that new ones will join the ranks of the 144,000. When you combine those factors with the decades-old teaching that they have held concerning some of the 144,000 will still be alive on earth when the end comes...now they have all the time in the world. Because they are recognizing younger ones as anointed now. They are poised to not be affected once it is clear how their teachings concerning 1914 have expired.

What's even more amazing is that a few seconds after that picture was taken, Iron Man showed up!

Yes, and our present truth comes from a progressive understanding of past truth! We look forward to Jehovah blessing us with further future truth, which will refine us beyond our current, present truth.
