It stops me right there, the request to not record a message of truth. That wouldn't disturb anyone to record. Just an 'alert' right there!

by betweenworlds inthis came from a reply on a message board:.
re the arrangement for the visiting governing body and another ny bethel representative, the expenses are not shouldered by a particular cong.

Drinks with my father last night...
by bluesbreaker59 inok, so i've been df'd for almost a year now, and out of the blue my dad asked me to go out for drinks with him.
this is big because he's an elder in my former hall.
he's only seen me once in the year i've been out, at my (step)grandfather's funeral (his father in law).

I am so impressed with your experience w/your dad. The love & respect you have for each other gave me a tear of joy. I am so impressed that he would never 'disfellowship' you and he is showing 'unconditional love' as a father should. That he encouraged college and programs or classes and acknowledged your valuable talents was amazing. Possibly he is going thru a personal "crises of conscience." So many best wishes to you both.

Dutch courts consider banning JW's adopting children due to blood doctrine
by inrainbows inon wednesday the dutch radd van state (council of state) heard a case regarding the adoption of children by jehovahs witnesses.. heres a rough translation of this news item;.
http://www.volkskrantblog.nl/bericht/185201.
the hague - a couple from veenendaal that are member of the jehovahs witnesses (who are against blood transfusions) cannot adopt a foreign child.

Glad to see this. In the U.S. a 14-yr boy was accepted and placed under guardianship (when he was 11 yrs old) of his JW aunt. He recently died because the JWs were able to mind control him into denying a blood transfusion when he got cancer (there was a 75% survival rate). The Seattle, Washington court judge accepted the boy's ignorant decision. It is so sickening to me!

Talk with My Mom - My Elder brother Explains Bethel Changes to Her
by flipper intalked with my witness mom, 80 years old this morning - and apparently she is pretty stoked up about the bs my ex- bethel brother ( a cloned elder of 35 years ) said to her about all the changes at bethel going on.
obviously he still has inside ties at bethel.
to avoid being redundant ( as i know most of you have heard some of this stuff ), my mom explained to me that my brother told her , " they are selling off most of the buildings in brooklyn as in the next 3 years they plan to move the entire operation to patterson and upstate new york.

He said that the non-GB Bethel movers & shakers tried getting the GB to move up to Patterson, but they didn't go for it. Too set in their ways, established in their respective congos, etc.
The GB is used to Brooklyn Bethel being the "Most Holy" place. Of course, they get their choice, while some other non-GB Bethelites have to accept their assignment to go 'where the need is greater'. The GB rules.

Most people try to do the best they can most of the time
by Gayle inas a jw we were taught most people are evil, worthy to be destroyed soon by god.
there is evilness in the world unfortunately, but now i think most people are trying their best and trying to improve, work hard and successfully, be honest, take care of their families, etc..

Elders in their 20's?

exciting news - stop the presses - her husband has been made an elder.
she is 27 and he is 26... is that not a little young to be an elder?
