Maybe they haven't figured out yet what they can get away with again for this year? Still trying/struggling to work their 2/3 voting majority for any "new light" ideas yet?

Jehovahs Witnesses and psychiatric diagnoses?
by Marvin Shilmer injehovahs witnesses and psychiatric diagnoses?.
today i added a new article to my blog sharing information from a 1983 study published in the journal for the scientific study of religion addressing religious affiliation and psychiatric diagnoses.
this article pulls information from an excellent academic study that is often misunderstood and therefore underutilized for its value.

I think 'some people,' including ones that have forms of mental illness, are drawn to a mindset of many rules and narrow dogmatisms. They think that 'over' structure and rules help them. Demanding rules such as don't drink ever, don't eat meat, don't smoke, don't, don't, don't most everything. Over=Rules help them not to even 'think.' Some just like to be 'ruled."
However, when they 'break' a rule, then most fall into a very deep depression, and end up worse. Then, they go into endless whirlwind struggling between self-righteousness and condemnation. A miserable state. Cultism contributes to this imbalance and creates a deep dependence from their members.

The fact is, after 30 yrs old, there aren't very many available single male JWs. If there is, there's plenty pickings of much younger gals for them.

The Prison of Belief...GOING CLEAR (interview with Lawrence Wright)
by Terry inhttp://www.npr.org/player/v2/mediaplayer.html?action=1&t=1&islist=false&id=171096563&m=171257727.
pulitzer prize winning author lawrence wright wrote the book scrutinizing the church of scientology.. .

Just half done with the book. A must read. Lawrence Wright doesn't have to express anything about points identifying this as a cult. All these experiences and insider identify this religion's leadership as madness. No one (in their right mind) after reading this book would consider one moment getting involved in this group. It is outrageous how it treats their people. Terrible for their youth also.
It is so bazaar and much worse, yet there are many methods that still have similarities to WTS/organization.

There are many inventors, artists, science majors that are on this spectrum. Respect must be priortized for these as mankind is learning from them and receivors of their many improvements.
I now have a 4 yr old grandson from which we are learning alot. He is not officially diagnosed with autism yet but is being 'reviewed' for it. He know grandma "gets" him and I know he is smart. He is affectionate and lovable and I surmise, as a grandma does, that he has special talents.

Confrontation of Needed Worldwide Church of God apologies
by Gayle inhttp://hwarmstrong.com/apology-worldwide-church-of-god.htm.
now their church is so splintered it is hardly recognizable anymore anywhere.. most of these are amazingly similar to those necessary by the wts, of which they also will never apologize for either.. interesting, how a very strong 'end-times' religion can go down eventually.. .

New Light needs batteries
by Roberta804 inwell i think the borg crossed the line with many of the r&f.
met a young woman at a class i take come to find out she and her husband are recent ex-jws.
they were both born-ins and they felt the printing company is taking too many liberties and that many in the khs are not talking about it... just leaving.

The "squeaky wheel" doesn't apply in the WTS. As Knorr would firmly say at Bethel there, "no one is indispensable."
It makes me wonder, 'why' have donations seem to have gone down w/i the WT? Yes, the financial environment is tight but possibly there is more to it,, are they "silent complainers",, this is the only way to "hurt" the WT. Maybe some feel things are economically tighter for them and feel 'subconciously' less giving?

Deteriorating content of the WT
by His Excellency inhas anyone noticed the recent deterioration in the quality of wt's contents lately?..
the spiritual food seems to be getting more and more shitty these days.
i have given a thought to what could really be going wrong, and if it is likely that some on the wiriting committee is consciously dishing out those nonsense to facilitate more poeple seeing ttat.

Their positive creativity is just shot. Then, when they try to come up with anything new or additional it is just 'madness.' Like when they came up with "overlapping generation," "diseased apostates," and that Selma should understand when her husband 'hits' her that it is her fault and implicate that she should stay with him as perhaps years later he will become a JW. I have noticed they haven't said these terms in awhile.
Maybe, since most JWs can't even explain the "overlapping" shows that most of them haven't embraced that term or doctrine. Maybe they suspect half of JWs are still talking with some of their DF'd relatives (especially, moms with DF'd grown kids,) and most of the beaten "sisters" are leaving their abusing husbands anyway.

My wife just told me to move out...
by nolongerconfused inbecause of "religious" differences, she now wants me to move out and "separate"...i said what biblical grounds does she have for her request?.
she couldnt respond...she said she'd rather be beaten up by me than have an "apostate" in the house.... this org definitely encourages conditional love.... i don't know what to do...by the way, we dont have children.

Then, shut your mouth and start beating her up, so that she'll be happier! That is so outrageous! JWs can be so bazaar.
Maybe try going to a marriage counselor? Though, JWs will only want to go to their elders.
Maybe this is just a flare-up for her and can get settled down.
