ever since mitt romney turned the spotlight on the lds church a growing tsunami of disaffection has been accelerated and brought to a head.. the lds core faithful members are leaving in increasing numbers such that growth has not simply stagnated in the west but it has actively reversed.

to their credit the church is responding aggressively but not only is it too late, it is an impossible task.

There are many groups forming, all exposing the WTS/GB. Some are atheists, agnostic, or religious of varying types. (I prefer "belief-neutral" sites - just facts about the WTS/JW alone.) Some are groups and some are just one individual. Some are mostly anonymous w/aliases (as here), but some are public, can use their names. Some are more radical, some very angry. (Anger is a stage/phase of recovery, but hopefully in personal control at some point). It's in the thousands of former members or people affected one way or another.

I am happy to see 'all' of it.

do you know anyone who has 'awakened' that went back to 'sleep'?.

i'm not talking about concious class, but someone who somehow got suckered back into the wts little game.. (i for one could never ever ever ever ever return - but interested if you've heard of people that have).

Unless former JWs start reading A LOT, like Crisis of Conscience, Hassan's books, etc. and read and read, otherwise I always suspect they could go back when in a rough spot. This would be especially so for young ones, though now grown. We, as young children, read and read the WT literature/entanglements all our growing years and millions of brain cells (lines of thought) got snarled. We need lots of facts and educated understanding to 'override' WT thinking.

i could be wrong, but i can't help but be a bit optimistic.last night my parents and i had our "family worship night".

i hate it, and i believe my mother does too.

my dad only does it because he's an elder but last night even he was acting like he didnt want to do it.

Great Meetup in Phoenix AZ yesterday!!

about 28-30 of us there for two hours at the phoenix library.

alot of personal experiences of those being raised jws and experiencing shunning!

it was filmed but sensitivity was certainly given for those there, were several there, who could not be filmed because of jw family yet.

About 28-30 of us there for two hours at the Phoenix Library. Alot of personal experiences of those being raised JWs and experiencing shunning! It was filmed but sensitivity was certainly given for those there, were several there, who could not be filmed because of JW family yet. There were tears of empathy and understanding. There was also much joy in gathering together and expressions of support to others there that are enduring heartbreak because of JW shunning. There was a wholesome sharing of humor that only ex-JWs would understand.

Kathleen Conti came also and what a wonderful mom of a wonderful daughter!! Others there, one that have written books, or another with experience even talking to the media.

Actually a lot of energy was displayed and strengthening. The purpose indicated sincere support for ones leaving JWs and giving awareness about the facts of the Watchtower's primary most hateful behaviors.
