As long as you look very happy, they don't bother you.
They just don't know what to do with that one. Aside, they may have some judgemental thought, what miserable ones they are!

to answer some of your questions.
i phone my son on thursday and was able to help him get his paper work in order for, get this: "college".
we're good.. the wife and i have about 10 family members that are jw's as well as over 12 close friends, 100's of friends in 5 states.
The Bethel brother added that Losch was the only one on the GB that felt that way.
The GB should get together, and counsel Losch for going beyond the scriptures, and going against the GB 2/3 majority. If he doesn't submit, they should DF him!!
an 'apostate' inactive jw in america i know on facebook went to the dc and said fully 600 people left between the end of the apostate talk and the lunch break.
have any of you who also went to the dc seen something like this happen?
.
Interesting, that in that talk they used a scripture quoting the 'name' of that apostate back then. Why don't they quote the name of "Raymond Franz," a former Governing Body member disfellowshipped back in the '80s. Because, they absolutely 'fear' to mention his name as they fear it would create curiosity and questions in behalf of many rank & file. Afterall, he wrote books about the inner workings among the GB,, their real history and flip-flops. He was not arrogant, but of the humblest among them. He never developed, nor desired to, an organized religion from among them, but spoke the real 'truth' about the GB arrogant workings and manipulations.

wonder what the total attendance was, morning and afternoon. Probably wouldn't announce with that difference.
after the 'apostate,' talk was the baptism talk
fyi to anyone who hasn't seen it.
i noticed it is avilable to rent/own on itunes.
i hoped it would be on netflix for free but i don't mind paying for a good movie.
I saw it,,it has been also shown on cable tv several times here. I enjoyed the movie, should be an eye-opener about the JW DFing issue and shunning reality. The real ex-jw shows in the conclusion, the actress playing the part smiles at a girl, blonde sitting in the train.
Shows also her older brother, who was DF'd, but going back to org to be back in the family. Just much struggle for whole family in different ways.
first of all thanks for all the kind words!!!
i am over whelmed by the responses.
i work very hard through the week and the only time i can reply is in the early morning hours, i read the respones on my iphone through out the day, if there was a way to log on with the phone, i would.
I love hearing these "Bells of Freedom" of all these new ones leaving the WTS:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAwz8ksoQLk
"Bells Of Freedom" - Bon Jovi I have walked all alone
On these streets, I call home
Streets of hope, streets of fear
Through the sidewalk cracks
Time dissapears
I was lost, on my knees
On the eve of defeat
As i choked back the tears
There's a silent scream no-one could hear
So far away from everything, you know it's true
Something inside that makes you know what you've got to do
[Chorus]
Ring the bells, ring them loud
Let them ring here and now
Just reach out and ring the bells of freedom
When your world's crashing down like you've lost every round
Stand your ground
And ring the bells of freedom
Up the steps of the church (*kingdom hall)
Through the fields in the dirt
In the dark I have seen
That the sun still shines for the one who believed
So far away, so full of doubt, you needed proof
Just close your eyes, and hear the sound inside of you
in addition, permission was requested to file an oversized respondent's brief.
the brief should be on file by next week.
can't wait to read it.
So, with these "written" briefs done, will there now be "oral" briefs? I don't expect the WTS to "waive" an oral argument if acceptable by the Court.
****************************************************
After both sides have filed all their briefs and had oral argument (or the date for oral argument passes, if everyone waives oral argument), the case is "submitted." If there is no oral argument, the case is submitted at the same time as if it oral argument had taken place. That is why asking for oral argument does not delay the case.
After the case is submitted, the court does not accept any more information about the case. The judges have 90 days from the date the case is submitted to decide the appeal. The clerk of the court will mail you a notice of that decision.
The appellate court's decision will become final in 30 days unless any of the parties disagrees with the opinion and files a certain kind of petition. If that happens, the court's opinion is not yet final. If you disagree with the court's opinion, click to see what you can do for options after losing an appeal.
After the appellate court decision is final
The court will issue a "remittitur." A remittitur summarizes the decision and says if any party is allowed to recover some of the costs from the appeal. It also returns jurisdiction (legal power over the case) to the trial court so the lower court can follow up on what, if anything, still needs to be done to carry out the decision or decisions made by the appellate court.
good day everyone.
i don't post on here very often, if at all.
used to pepper this site quite a bit 8-10 years ago.
Wow, I have had a handful of "blasts from the past" too. Love it!!
i know it is easy to go there, on this board, and blame the jehovah's witnesses.
but being a dad, i can tell you that being a teenage girl in this day in age is hard.
add to that, having such a famous father in your past with such strange stories attached to him.

Paris Jackson, the 15-year-old daughter of the late pop legend Michael Jackson, tried to take her own life on Wednesday. The young Jackson is reportedly “physically fine.”
TMZ reports Jackson left a suicide note before cutting her arm with a meat cleaver and taking a large number of Motrin pills. She also reportedly called a suicide hotline. The counselor called 911. After receiving stitches for the cut, she reportedly was placed under psychiatric supervision.
"Paris is physically fine and is getting appropriate medical attention," Perry Sanders, an attorney for Paris' grandmother and guardian, Katherine Jackson, said in a statement. “Being a sensitive 15-year-old is difficult no matter who you are. It is especially difficult when you lose the person closest to you."
Michael Jackson died in 2009 from a fatal dose of a surgical anesthetic during rehearsals for his London concert series, “This Is It.” He was 50.
Some believe the drama that continues around Michael Jackson’s death may be causing stress for his surviving daughter. Others point to the anniversary of her father’s death as a reason for the suicide attempt.
"People who feel no one understands them are vulnerable to wanting to join a beloved deceased parent or family member,” Dr. Ran Walfish, author of The Self-Aware Parent, told WENN. “Given Paris' personal circumstances and the anniversary of her father's death, she was a high-risk candidate for suicide."
But some are suggesting Jackson’s suicide attempt is the fruit of being raised as a Jehovah Witness (JW). According to the DailyMail, in May, Jackson refused to follow her grandmother in preaching door-to-door, as is common in the JW faith.
"After years of going with her family around their Calabasas, Calif., neighborhood spreading the religion's message every Sunday, the 15-year-old and her brother, Prince Michael, 16, have decided to no longer participate," the paper reports.
Richard Kelly, a director of the Advocates for Awareness of Watchtower Abuses (AAWA), an international nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness about concerns regarding the “high control” religion, says Jackson’s episode is characteristic of what happens to JW children.
“There is a high incidence of suicide attempts and cutting among JW children,” he says. “They’re told to go to all the meetings; they’re told Armageddon is coming; they’re told they need to go door-to-door to hand out materials. Kids with minds of their own develop problems with these demands and act out in various ways. Suicide attempts are not uncommon.”
