  hello ,i am a jw,been in the "truth " for about 6 years.i have to be very careful because i know the witnesses monitors sites and report to the elders ,i know cause that is what my blood sister does,she spends hours trying to find apostates in the closet.i know stuped.. so this is my situation.i have known about jw almost all my life and heard that only them have the truth,lots of my family are in it.i was the one taking too long to baptize ,i knew it was expected from me.and i always had a need to make ppl like me .so i took the dip.i started to notice that there are lots of jws that belong to little groups.i wanted friendship so bad and at the time had a need o tell ppl about my horrible childhood traumas i guess i was not over it yet,and needed some to lisent since i had drove my spouse nuts already .what happend this ppl pretend to want to be close to me so they can know all my business and then tell everyone at the hall.then you realize uhhh,they never confided their personal stuff to me.is like a game " you can tell me your stuff,but do not expect me to keep it to myself and do not think i will tell you my dirty laundry.a lot of mind games.. so i was alone ,invisible ,i still can't believe i put up with so much !

  i can't wright not even half of what i when through.i feel paranoic now.so i came across a youtube video by jwstruggle and blow my mind ,now i can't stop researching,my spouse is not a jw,and is very shock too.so i decided that i want to fade,i guess it won't be so hard since the sis and brothers did not had a close relationship with me.i have kids and i suffer from pts ,anxiety attacks,panick attacks and severe depression.i moved to the next town of my hall,so i have change hall too.i have not been to my new hall,and wanted to know,will the elders in my old hall contact the elders in my new hall just to see if i am attending?..

  my spouse told me " i will tell them i am not letting you go" "and "i found out that your liars!

  Do not go to the new congregation. Why double and prolong your trouble. Fortunately, you have a wonderful wife that will support you away from this harsh religion. You don't want your children to have to grow up in this religion, and just end up also with this low esteem that this religion has burdened on you.

  Glad you are here now. You will realize that many, many have been hurt, and used by the organization. Learn why this organization cannot help you, nor ones at the local Kingdom Halls can help as they too are misdirected and controlled by an organization of arrogant men and only want to control and manipulate ones to serve only an organization, that is only wanting to buildup their Headquarters/Regime.

  i managed to weasel out of friday, so no comments on the days program.

  i'm sure it was marvellous.

  i made it thru saturday's program in a fairly sociable mood, saying hello to a few folks we hadn't seen in years.

  2013 Baptisms @ U.S. District Conventions Reports?

  anyone getting/hearing how baptism numbers are this summer @ conventions?

  in previous years, reports showed less baptisms per attendance numbers.

  overall, annual 2012 service report showed for u.s. reduction in baptisms..

  One anonymous observer at: "the Richmond, VA convention this weekend. The peak attendance was around 5,600 (with only 5k at the Friday morning session). The average was around 5,500. There were 24 baptized." (So that ratio is .4%) Also, "observed so many people leaving early each day. About an hour before the sessions were over, dozens of folks were packing up and heading out."

  Can't really tell, but looks like majority are adults. percentage of 33 to attendance of 5,568 was .6%, not dramatic .

  Any Ex-Witnesses Live in Phoenix?

  i'm been out of the org for about 4 years now, and have lived in phoenix for a couple years.

  i was surprised at how many witnesses i see out in field service on a regular basis here, and even more surprised at their casual dress.

  i've had sisters approach me in at bus stops in slacks and sleeveless shirts...when i was in the organization a woman would have never worns pants in service.

  I'm in NW Phoenix.,,been out since mid-80s,,the ones that have come by way of here,,though not stopping here anymore,,wear the traditional dress etc. Where abouts do you live?

  just had a funny vision of awakened ex jw's going to convention in flip flops.

  people outside in flip flops with signs advertising jwfacts and other worthwhile internet sites.

  another sign could read "hey, did you hear the one about the flip flop doctrine?

  good idea,,wearing flip flops as a symbol of JW flip flops!! Would they seriously walk people out at a convention for that? At the Hall, could that be a 'marking' offense?

  i don't know if anybody else has mentioned this, but i'm currently at a dc in sweden, and this morning, during the symposium on different kinds of service, it was mentioned that 40% of baptisms are the result of informal witnessing.

  if you add the number of baptisms of children of jw parents to this, how many are left that are baptized as a result of the door-to-door work?

  doesn't sound very effective at all....

  I'm on the Stage Const. Crew - Here at the Arena right now!!!

  after lunch i will be the guy nail gunning the plywood letters to the top part of the stage.

  so when i get to the word truth, i am going to mutter "bullshit, bullshit, bullshit....etc" the whole time i'm nailing the letters, obviously very quietly to myself.

  ;-) that way when i am listening to the bs tomorrow, i can smile to myself knowing the letters have been properly christened!
