Ray Franz is a non-sectarian Christian,,he does point to Bible scriptures and Jesus Christ. He does not lead to himself and does not "add" to scripture as many Christian zealots do. He still preaches and still has traveled to eastern Europe recently to preach basic scripture. All his GB peers of his time have passed away now but he still in active preaching. It should not be downplayed that Ray helped so many out of JWdom, freeing people of spiritual and emotional bondage. People truly freed can find their own path now.

Internet absolutely. If anyone I know isn't into Internet world with email, then it's difficult to be in touch with them. I've gotten so if someone doesn't have internet, then it concerns me about them.

Yes, you sure are a better person! So happy you respect your mom more now, you're more open-minded listening to all, knowing you can learn something from all people, have a plan A,B,C & D for your different stages/phases in life (not limited to a plan #1 only as done for JWs), 'bi' - don't much about that myself but better to love than to not have loved at all, tattoo, permanent physical thing but at least not branded in the scarred, cold heart of JWdom, smoking - well, I hope you quit, and I don't curse but who gives a **#! Take care, our 'soldiergirl' and best wishes!

I was in a type of emotional coma for 2 yrs about I think.. Mom died of cancer, was told she would be back soon in the resurrection. That was 37 years ago. I have since come to want to believe that she's already been in a better place (heaven) all this time. All of her children (here in this picture) have left JWdom since as we are more comfortable dealing with reality than the WTS fantasy world.

Canadian gets 3 years - sexual exploitation of girl while he was a JW elder
by Gopher inwendell willick was sentenced to prison last week for sexual abuse of a girl beginning in 1996 when the girl was 14. he was an elder at the time, but gave up being an elder a few years ago and left the jw's entirely in 2004. his lawyer gave some weasel words toward the bottom of this story that claimed willick wasn't acting in his capacity as an elder when the abuse occurred.
let there be no doubt, willick was an elder when this started and for many years while it was continuing.. http://www.canada.com/theprovince/news/story.html?id=9ab94717-9097-4894-a6bd-bf6e88d81203&k=74159.
jehovah's witness elder gets three years for sexual exploitationbetty ann adam, canwest news servicepublished: friday, november 09, 2007saskatoon -- a former jehovah's witness church elder has been sentenced to three years in prison for the sexual exploitation of a troubled teenage girl with whom he carried on a four-year relationship.. "our courts must send a clear message to every person in authority over a child that sexual contact with them will not be tolerated and will result in lengthy periods of imprisonment," justice marty popescul said friday at the saskatoon court of queen's bench.. wendell willick, 47, was counselling the girl at the behest of her parents - who were friends of willick through their church - during the period of the abuse, which began in 1996, when the girl was 14.. the court heard during a sentencing hearing that willick first had sexual intercourse with the girl when she was visiting his home on a weekend pass from a hospital psychiatric ward.. the victim, whose name is protected by a publication ban, was in the midst of a troubled adolescence.

Can't seem to cut & paste this article about Jehovah's Witnesses meetin November 5 on Monday in Saskatoon? I don't see a defense about their "2 witness rule." I am sure the JW in the area is very rattled, probably the reason for this special meeting.

This tragic loss shows how lulled JWs truly are about what can happen with the WTS stance on the blood issue. The Society mostly only discusses examples of people who don't take blood and were fortunate that nothing critically happened so those people 'lived happily ever after.' JWs have a false sense security on this blood issue. Believe me, the Governing Body feel no personal ache, strife, anxiety, or personal responsibility for this young family loss and long term pain and burden.

abuse towards children by Muslims
by Guest with Questions inwarning: some sites you will find are extremely graphic.
i came across this site this morning looking for a christian artist.
i'm beside myself with grief for these children.

So much of Muslims countries culture is behind in so many ways..they have here taken on large groups, probably orphaned,,not long ago orphans and slaves in so-called 'Christian' cultures have a record of similar treatments of children,,such records are all despicable! Sickeningly, the "better" (?) world doesn't or can't (?) do anything to better it. However, with exposure in media, including Internet, hopefully some will become ashamed and begin to try to stop the madness.

Dating a df girl who wants to go back - Do I have a chance?
by mrburns inhaving read some of the previous posts, i'm pretty sure what the majority answer will be.
my situation is similar.
we met a little over a year ago, she got df over her relationship with me, something that put her in a pretty long depression that she gradually grew out of (with some notable setbacks along the way).

I don't think anyone can "talk" anyone out of JWdom. The individual has to be willing to open their mind and honest heart. Maybe you could check on: freeminds.org to get some ideas or possibly some literature for at least you to read. Ask her why she left it before, and why she wants to go back.

Does the Shunning practice lead people to post on apostate sites?
by JH inby shunning inactive or df'd ones, i'm sure that the watchtower unravels the red carpet to apostate internet sites.. what is a shunned person supposed to do?

Hopefully! When one door closes, a better one opens. At least 'shunned' xJWs don't have to feel so isolated anymore. There are people that totally understand.
