Banning can seem like a quick fix, but for paranoia groups like Jehovah's Witnesses, it only 'fans' their fire of persecution complex. Like to a child, if you just 'ban' something you may just drive them to it. If you educate, inform that child fully, have him check the facts. There is so much literature and so much facts online now regarding JWs. The facts about Jehovah's witnesses needs exposure.

Aug. 15th WT- "Jehovah Only Loves Those Who Obey the Governing Body "
by flipper inonce again our lurking jw friend sent us this latest mind control drivel from the " witness only " watchtower.
remember - this is the information our jw relatives will study in their witness meetings at their watchtower study.
this is what they are currently being indoctrinated with.

Haven't been to a meeting in 3 years...
by dudeson infirst off i'd like to say hello to everyone on this forum, especially those who clicked on my topic.. i was baptized on sept 9, 2000 when i was 15. looking back i only did it because i had been studying with the same brother for 2 years and it seemed like the next logical step.i have 3 half siblings who at one point were all going to the meetings but were never baptized.
none are in any way affiliated with any congregation at all and live a long way from myself and my mom.. my mother and i are the only ones in my family who have been baptized and as of dec. 2008 i moved into my own place because things were just too tense between us.
i figured it would be beneficial for our stress levels if i moved out.. when i became inactive my mom kept asking why.

If any of us can talk you out of going into the military, then the military would definitely not be for you. I am a mom of 3 sons. I left JWs during their early teens so none of them were ever baptized, so had none of that DF/DA issue. However, I am still not political (vote as 'independent' mostly regarding on tax issues), and don't love my country that much for my sons to go into military.
Two of my sons were excellent students, got scholarships and grants and put themselves through college and have graduated. However, I have had to come to terms about my son, Will. Will was not as studious as his brothers, an okay student but sitting long and reading for hours was about tortuous different for him. Doing things that were always physically demanding was for him. In his senior year, he informed me he was going into the military. We fought/argued a lot. I tried so hard to get him to change his mind. His senior year, he made honor roll for the first time, he said because he then had goals. He said going straight into college was not for him. He saw his friends that didn't go into college really got no where for several years anyway.
He went into the Marines at Camp Pendleton, California. Wonderfully, he was stationed there at the base for 3 1/2 years, no military action for him. I could tell he liked the military, being in the field for workouts. A couple times he brought 6-8 other Marines home here to Phoenix for Thanksgiving. I found I felt privileged that he would bring them home. His Marine "bros" were outstandingly respectful and appreciative.
Then, it happened he got called first to Saudi Arabia and then on to Iraq. Every day of that invasion, I was there with my son in spirit. I sent letters and sent "CARE' packages, some that never caught up with him till he got back, because the initial part, his part, went quite quickly. He was out of Iraq within 5 months.
He finished his service in 4 yrs and a few months extra. Then, he came home and started college with his GI loan. He majored in communications and history. Now he was ready to study more than ever before. He could study and read for hours and truly enjoyed it for the most part. He graduated with a 3.49 grade average and 'cum laude.' President Obama gave the commencement at ASU. Now he is planning to go back in the military as an officer, probably going in about a month. Again, I have reservations about his choice but it is his choice and I respect him and as a mother I support him with all my heart.
I hope the best for your decision and future. I hope your half siblings and possibly other extended family and friends will be there for you and supportive. If you go in the military, I also hope your mom just would not report you to the elders. She could just tell them you have moved. But I know she'll probably report you and she will be hurting herself the most in doing that. I hope your one friend still stays in contact with you. Most JWs are very conditional friends. Take care.

I hate District Convention time
by digderidoo ini had to pick my daughter up from my mothers yesterday after going to the district convention.
i hate having to listen to how my mother has bumped into so and so and they've been asking about me.. she bumped into some of my ex's family who stopped and chatted.
so two faced all of them.. it kind of gets my back up and i can feel anger coming up when i hear people who i used to respect asking after me, then if i were to walk past them in the street i know most of them would try to avoid me.. to top it all my mother has been dropping hints as to whether i will go with her.

The Spain Branch will pay now to: bethelites, special pioneers, Circuit y Distric and missionaires
by JHK inthe spain branch, now will pay directly to: bethelites, special pioneers, circuit, district and missionaries... with our money!
the congregations must not given money to the full time ministers.
the governing body bank wants to have all money in its hands.
-
Gayle
At least the Spain government is making it more clear the money operation that the WTS is: "As of 2009 the branch is taxed on amounts on money given to the members of the Order for maintenance, as "employment income". and at least requiring a way to insure some funds for these "volunteers" to have some pension/funds as they age in reality. Isn't it amazing that the "Spain beast" cares more about the long-term care of these JWs than their own organization, since the organization there was forced into this. The WTS promises their workers they will never die and certainly have no accountability for the reality. Obviously, the Spain government knows that JWs have a "paid clergy" which JWs deny.

My Assignment For Ray Franz
by sacolton intoday i met the widow of ed dunlap, who was of the watchtower writing committee and a great thinker.
he found that the watchtower was not in harmony with the scriptures, so they disfellowshipped him.
when ray franz was disfellowshipped, it was ed who took him in and gave ray a job and a place to stay.

Ed Dunlap was not one of the Governing Body (not a partaker) but did research, writing and did work with RayFranz.

Grad. party... hard core jw relatives won't come cause we invited d'fed relatives
by moomanchu inour son graduated this year.
we are having a graduation party for him at our house and decided to invite all of the family.. some jw's relatives aren't coming (some are still deciding) because they found out their would be d'fed relatives (2) there.. my question is... is there any society info to counter the hard core jw stance on this?.
on a funny note the one jw declined the invite..... in his reply he called it a graduation gathering instead of party, unbelievable.. thanks for any help.. .

My nephew graduated this year. He informed respectfully that his grandmother was not invited. His grandmother has made clearly known throughout the years her criticism toward his parents not in the "truth" anymore, worldly, etc etc. Graduation was 'his' day. His JW aunt and her 'elder' husband came though and went out to eat with us all, ex-JWs and all.

Sometimes I feel like I am going crazy with the WT teachings
by verystupid77 ini went to the meetings this week because we have the co's visit.
i have not been in about five months.
oh my god some of the stuff you just cannot make this stuff up.. ok so like many of us i feel that there have been things done that are wrong in the "truth".

They cunningly manipulate scripture, to manipulate you,, to make you yield to them, to become a slave of a printing organization. Their 'peaceable' fruit is a numbing and dumbing of your mind. Your feelings of 'crazy' is because your free mind and conscience is detecting danger. You can grow to trust yourself by reading books to help unscramble those Watchtower 'scrambles.' Suggestion: read "Crises of Conscience" for a start. Others here will suggest several other books.

How many lives have been RUINED by the Organization? Experiences?
by BonaFide ini think that some people deserve to be excommunicated, such as pedophiles.
but what about the tens of thousands of others that have their life wrenched out from under them by being disfellowshipped?.
and what about those that have a family member that died because of not receiving a blood transfusion?

"Scars mark a memory"
The wounds have healed for many of us, we have moved on, but 'scars' mark a memory. A memory that I think should not be forgotten totally. As the WTBS still inflicts and "plows" injury across the world.
