anyone else hear about this?
The WTS would have to put up a lot of money upfront for this seeming demand for new Bibles, paper, ink, durable cover quality.
Does the WTS have such funds to put upfront?, then they would have to be concerned about the pubs. actually paying for the value+ asap. Then, their people might not have a clue to how much they should donate and therefore a 'hat dance' or 'guessing game.'
on friday the 1st of march, i went to my cousins 21st birthday celebration - she has never been a jw.
my other cousins (twins) were introduced by my mother to the faith over 20 years ago (they are now 38) and got baptised when they were about 19. they both weren't that "strong" in the faith and married "worldly partners" and stopped going to meetings.. they knew i had left and i presumed they knew i was disfellowshipped for apostacy.. at the party the one twin came over to me and we chatted about life etc and she says "oh carl is going to start studying" - i looked at her a little odd and asked what it was as he already had a financial degree.
"no silly, he is going to study the truth" my face must have been a picture and in a very high voiced squeaked why would he ever consider that, he is an intellecutal guy....... she continued about how the people had changed and were so much better than when we were younger.

That is a disappointment how your cousin, who didn't stick with all the WT reality all these years, didn't really 'live' it, and now just just envisions some icing on, in reality, WT cow pie.
The WTS is like a beast looking for 'new blood.' It knows it will die without 'new blood.'

Weren't they just giving out their Bibles for free like crazy in their Manhattan Project a little while back? Almost throwing them "in the streets?"

this is taken every 5 years, and i have been doing a comparison over the last 15 year period.
for 2001 and 2006 the number of jw's fell in australia, but this time it has risen, which jws may find encouraging.

Interesting about the JW Census. The difference from that and actual pubs. is 21,140 (that would include nonpubs, JW children. Certainly, under 5 would be included in that. U.S. stats show their under 5 at 5.6% on one site. Couldn't find percentage for Australia. But, that percentage less, brings the remaining possible group (DF'd, inactive or ?) to 16,344. These are still mentally stuck in JWism, still 'claiming' JW. These could no doubt 'jump' back in, especially if there is a bad earthquake or tsunami, or some scarey time in their life.
This difference between Census and reporting pubs is almost 33%. Yikes!

Here the WTS won't even let their JW children draw a Christmas tree or a Santa.
The WTS is evil with extreme insensitivities for innocent children.
