Physical ailments, and emotional stresses affect us all. It's just being a JW makes it all worse. "Waiting" our whole life is exhausting and sickening.

The medical specialist told me something alarming today. Pretty bummed.
by Julia Orwell inso i've been going to doctors for years with chronic fatigue, a condition i managed ok but which took a drastic nose dive in late 2011 to 2012 to the point where i could barely function.
work was part of the problem, so at the end of that year i left that stressful environment.
but in the meantime, for the last few years i've been going to doctors, specialists, psychiatrists and psychologists and undergoing every sort of blood test you can imagine and seeing all sorts of medical people.

However so empty this was!! Of all things in life! Such drudgery!
He prayed for the brothers and sisters in the Phillipines (not the others), and for Mark Sanderson who is there to bring comfort to them. When they announced recently, that the Phillipines, don't need water, food, etc. Empty, empty, empty.
Being late for meetings,, would this be a 'top' issue of Jesus?,, or for anyone that is genuinely trying to help people. (Sounds like being late too many times might call for a JC meeting some day.)
And, comforting anyone who has lost a loved one, well, most people do that,,they just don't throw out the quick fix "soon" card like JWs. Many JWs or ex-JWs have learned, "soon" could actually mean decades later or the rest of their life.

Welcome here this site! What a dilemma to leave the WT world, many are stuck in your position. Spend your time with your grandchildren as much as possible. They are your ministry! Speak in 'unconditional love' ways to them. Very important, to not contradict the WT and your daughter. But express your love them 'no matter what always' (they will not hear such talk in KH). Help them to be interested in all the positive things in life, the now & today everythings. Maybe try to do special things with them on their school vacations, during holidays and birthdays times, (maybe not on the immediate days) but special 'fun' things around those times. So they have good memories of special times with grandma. They will know the difference between those times, as JW special days are no memories at all but are only a blur for them.
Celebrating the 'seasons,' not specific holidays. Getting together and making cookies, is a gingerbread house with graham crackers and candies pagan? Make a snowman, etc. Can a subtle way to make seasonal (winter, spring, summer, fall) keepsakes, pictures or things collectible for them (you keep till they are grown). Make grandma's house a 'wonderland' for them. Build a fun 'philosophy' wall. Plaques, some serious, some lighter. "Love, Joy, Peace" Serenity Prayer. "Whatever!"
You can be hopeful, but it will call for such patience. It will call for you to have and show more joy of 'this' life as you turn your back from the depressing life of JW life.
So many best wishes to you!

i am the second oldest and babysat him often while he was growing up --- and while i was still at home.. yesterday, albert was out taking his usual morning stroll around his small town, when he collapsed on the sidewalk.

The Candace Conti case (started 1/28/11) and judgement was 9/17/12 . This letter, copy, is dated Oct 12, 2012. The letter states,, The branch office, not the local body of el-ders, determines whether an individual who has sexually abused children in the past will be considered a “predator.”
Wow, the audacity after having lost that court case.!! Candace Conti case went to Appeals Court, set up 9/25/12. Hopefully, a copy of this letter was received by her lawyer as soon as possible.
cc,,thank you for your report indicating a bit of a change 'now' by the WTS. But it may be that you are in a U.S. state ('hot' state for them), that has firm laws on this issue, and the WTS well knows it. Then, the WTS only modified their policy on this, only because of legal laws now, nothing to do with 'new light' from Jehovah. But, what if in a another state or another country such laws are not so defined, then, we can surmise that the WTS gives a different message there.

Number of anointed partakers in new yearbook?
by JWOP ini haven't seen the 2014 yearbook on the jw site yet.
i'm looking to see if the number of partakers has increased again (as it has for many years now).
anyone have a scan of it yet?.

Gayle
I wonder why they even 'publish' the partaker numbers if the increasing numbers bothers them? It would seem a good number of active members would be asking them about that by now?

Thinking of taking a break from this forum
by yadda yadda 2 instarting to feel my time is wasted on here lately and its time to move on.. some of the best, meaty stuff only gets a few hundreds views and as soon as the posts dry up a bit the thread is soon forgotten (usually in a few days) under the constantly falling snowflakes of new threads (many trival) continuously being created and popping up as 'active topics'.
the same core jw related subjects then keep reappearing over and over again as new threads without getting a thorough treatment at the time (eg, there must be at least one 'are jw's a cult' thread started each week on here; 'new light' topics get about 20 new threads started with the quality of analysis spread and diluted over all of them.).
anyone else tend to feel the same way at times?.

yadda, pls don't go for long,, i back off every few days too,,I am so sorry specifically right now, but you have had such pointed things of value, I know,,I say what I sincerely want to say or certain parts,,sometimes, I feel chopped down by a commenter , but a few jump up and say it together harmonized perfectly,,it is so grand! So supportive. Anyway, every one should have a point of view, our experience is true,, to be accepted or not.

'Deal with it!' - WT, in so many words
by Gayle inhttp://www.jw.org/en/publications/magazines/wp20091101/spouse-special-needs/.
an article if a marriage partner has a chronic health issue.
no - did not mention something like - 'just read the bible & you'll feel better.
-
Gayle
Thank you so much, SfPW,, for pointing out that the article was a 'public' edition. Certainly, what the WTS says to the general public is more positive, 'practical' and more 'publicly' correct. So different, than for the 'members' insiders directions/suggestions. (Yes, I agree also, that many JWs do go the extra in helping personally 'some' in congs. to get to meetings, 'some' household chores and 'some' social visits.) I know also, that Bethel has it 'very' organized in having doctors, nurses, caregivers, and all normal household amenities to assist their aging, at least the ones they keep.
