some people want to up the minimum wage to $10 - $12 per hour!
what are your thoughts about this?.
I always find it interesting that those who want to eliminate the minimum wage are not too concerned because they are no where near that minimum and are living comfortably, and those who are, can't afford to live with whatever it is set to.
How do you know what we make? You have no idea. In my case, I earn well below the median income for the area that I live in, and I am STILL opposed to the idea of a minimum wage set by the federal government.

Raising the minimum wage is like raising the price of stamps--it doesn't matter how much you raise it, the same group clamoring for a raise will want it raised again and again and again and again.....
So.....I say we raise it to $20.00/hr. But why stop there? Why don't we also require that everyone that works has, at a minimum, a lexus or mercedes to drive. After that, we set a minimum housing law, and require that everyone working has a three-bedroom house to live in.
My point is--where do you draw the line?
i doubt it very much, at least not in the foreseeable future.

In the foreseeable future, I seriously doubt it. Even with the hardliners getting very up in years(Ted Jaracz), lieutenants are being trained to carry on and succession plans are already worked out. I really think it might take another decade or two before we might see some real reforms...
Well, you should want BO to be our next prez, IF you:
want higher taxes(especially the "rich"--which in the eyes of the dems is usually anyone that makes over a 200k/yr)
want socialized/government-run health care
believe the 'war on terror' is a fairy tale and we, the US, have no real enemies in the world that want to do us harm, including Iran
think that we, the americans, are the cause of all the bad in the world today
want open borders and no real plan to end illegal immigration
want bigger government instead of less of it involved in our daily lives

Absolutely. It's THEIR decision to make, whether it's right or wrong..
i know that the co recieve a small allowance from the society , plus the local cong take care of health and car insurance( which is still more than some individuals get).
when the co makes his semi annual visit to the local cong the publishers like to donate $$ to the co and his wife.
i remember one cong i attended in texas.
"green" handshakes were the norm around here in the more affluent areas/circuits. It's a pretty sweet gig when you think about it--all your expenses are taken care of and by rat-holing all the money you get given to you allows one to save at least a little for retirement or post-circuit work life when they have to join the real world with the rest of us.

Unless you feel like you need to, I wouldn't bother writing a DA letter. They've long since put your publisher card in the inactive file and hence they may try to pay you a visit every six months or a year, but they will be doing that more out of duty than a real sincere interest in helping reactivate you. In other words, you've probably already been 'written off' and you're not going to be the focus of their attention, so there's no need to for you to take any initiative with them by sending them a letter. Of course, that's just an opinion of a fellow fader...

No it isn't. If you want to know what real stagflation is, you have to go back to the years during Jimmy Carter's presidency. Interest rates were in double digits and inflation was out of control. Also, umemployment was through the roof...

i always thought it was ironic how often they preached against this sort of thing from the platform, then were out in the parking lot trying to sell it to you.
