I totally understand as this is where i am. As i said before I am in the JW sprint plan(friends and family). When youre raised in this religion is all you know. You are spoonfed it. So you stay for the social aspects and such. If the religions were switched and catholics were going door to door, most of us who are in would be the "I have my own religion type"

Got proposed to today
by hambeak ina very nice lady and very pretty who has been coming in for a few weeks now, is starting to become a fatal attraction.. she comes in for the most idiotic requests and has asked me out numerous times.
i keep giving her some excuse for not going out.. i can't tell her i am gay as that can destroy everything at work here.. any ideas?
i don't want to hurt her feelings or stop her from spending her money here as well as sending her friends and neighbors.

my jw experience: my mom got hooked during a vulnerable period (marriage split up).
we went to a couple of congregations in queens, ny, and then moved to the finger lakes area of upstate ny.

by minimus injehovah's witnesses talk a big game but in reality they are filled with hot air.
they say a lot of things but don't always back it up.
for example, jws are told that meeting attendance is of paramount importance but the truth is anytime a meeting might be called off due to inclement weather, jws would anxiously wait by the phone from their elders saying the meetings were being canceled.. jws tell everyone that their preaching work is a "life-saving" work but the truth is they don't utilize the most effective modern ways of getting this "life-saving" message out.

The elders are the ones that because of their position in the cong. have to take the lead but once out there you can tell
their heart is not in it.
I know plenty of elsers like that. But theyre in too deep now. They dont feel they can turn back. Plus where else can they go and be respected and placed on pedastals. Hard to do when your a 45 year old librarian

I realized when I was Secretary that many make up service time.
Aah, nothing like good old Phantom Pioneers. There were so many phantom pioneers in my hall, they would get all of their hours but never in service. They all lie about field service time. The CO was at the hall back in November and ok'd it. He said your service time starts when you start your ministry, and that was when you decided you started your ministry. He said no one has the right to question when you started your ministry.. thats a green light to me

Newbie!!!

been away from the truth for nearly a year now and have just got my divorce from my violent ex who is stil serving in the congregation.
found things hard and still am, as the 'truth' is all i've ever known....so am on here for some well needed support, if thats ok?

youve come to the right place. i am df'd and working on reinstatement. i think i am the only one in here thats even interested in reinstatement. I am on the sprint plan (friends and family) . many posters here are against the idea. but no matter what you choose to do, there will be plenty who will understand, will relate, and can give you support.
