  Will the WTBTS come to an end?

  cults come and go so do you think the wtbts will eventually come to an end?

  i think about this sometimes and i wonder if i will live to see it.

  the reason why i want it to end is because i don't like the administration.

  It will, but I do not expect it in the near future.

  the end delayed won't be a major issue for hardcore jw . There are about 1.x billion of Chinese atheists to preach to. It takes an average of 4-5 years to convert one of them, so there is still plenty to do in the work of the Lord to justify that the end has not come yet.

  Publishers will be kept busy and away from thinking with more global campaigns, starting with memorial of 2007.

  money is and will be the main issue.

  It will be interesting to see 2014 come and go.

  having read posts over the last few months, i have come to the conclusion that there must be alot of 'active' jw's who still regularly attend meetings/field service etc.. don't you feel that by posting your many and varied topics, usually complaining/disagreeing with the wbts, that you are being hypocritical?

  when you post your information, obtained sometimes in an questionable manner, doesn't it make you question your own underhanded actions?.

  you converse with many on this forum who are disfellowshipped/dissasociated, yet if you knew who these ones were, face to face, you would not give them the time of day!

  DO you realize that your black and white view of things is very similar to the WT? Maybe you have not been out long enough to overcome these harsh feelings.

  I could have not expressed it better.

  btw winnie, had you been in nazi germany, realising hitler was wrong, how would you have handled the situation? how would you have tried to help the victims of nazism?

  if there is one important thing that I have learnt after many years as a JW is not to judge others and not to judge their motives and not to judge their ideas (which as JW we did/do all too frequently).

  not long ago I read a very interesting post on another board http://www.channelc.org/cgi-bin/eboard30/index2.cgi?frames=yes&board=Main&mode=Current&message=23017

  all of us had different experiences as JW or simply as bible students or relatives of JW. even facing the same situation we may come to different conclusions. Some may be happy remaining JW (for whatever reason) or just want the WTBTS to change, others prefer to remain because of family situations, others remain because they feel that is the best way to help their friends see the wrong within the organisation.

  It is not up to me to judge. whatever the situation, I am glad I can freely exchange ideas and experiences with people that are still in and others that have left.

  my best friend and his wife had hired an elder to do some refinishing work in their basement.

  they kept their tv and vhs tapes (pre dvd era) down there.

  it seems dear brother was a bit of a nosy fella, so he just happened to pop in one of their home movies of a trip they had taken to cuba and found some footage of my friend smoking a cigar.

  so what about all the times that they do not find anything and it is there (like in my house )? it means holy spirit is not at work?

  it is similar situation to the box on page 21 of the revelation book, when jw did not get caught having "spiritual food" under ban it is angelic direction. so when this didn't happen and they were caught? ah then it was Satan test.... JW like to have it both ways, all the time.

  thanks blondie, excellent as usual. i just have a small favour to ask, as some of us in europe are having our meeting on saturday, maybe you could post your reviews a few hours earlier so that we have them before the study. if it is not too much hassle, otherwise do not worry.

  one day or the other GB will have to introduce this "new light" (i feel a bit sorry for all those zealous JW that have worked hard on defending it on the internet and from evening to morning they will have to claim, with the same determination and conviction, that they were wrong )

  it will be hard to swallow, but many will remain loyal. I am sure that it will be presented in a very appealing way...

  writing the wts

  i know someone who just wrote the wts to tell them exactly what they thought of what's been going on.

  this is a person in good standing and is active.

  they know what's going on, they believe some of the doctrines, but are very unhappy about the scandals and the bs that has been going on.. they didn't sign their name or say which kh they go to.. so it got me thinking.... how many lurkers do we have here?

  listen to the calm manner in which they refute the elders (especially 607 and 1914) and how the elders get evasive and dodge questions and pretty much bring up nothing biblical.

  How long?

  how long until they really start cracking down on me?

  any former/current elders especially.

  i am currently an elder and basically miss at least one meeting a week and never go out in service on sundays and seldom on saturdays.

  xbehere, I can sympathise as I am in a similar situation. as to the how long, from the other elders point of view, it will very much depend on whether you have some hardcore ones in your body (the ex bethelite sort that love rules and regulations). If they are easy going, it could go on forever.

  with regard to you, it depends how long you can (or have to) live a lie.

  My wife's biggest fear as I faded out and left the org was that I was going to leave her too

  the problem is if she wants to remain in the organisation. Fading might be ok but you still have to live by certain rules even if you do not agree with them (and it might be hard if you have children). DA/DF living with someone that is still active JW, cannot last, imo.
