>>Of course parellpsos%&^$## (what kind of name is THAT?)
Paralipomenon is another name for the books of the Bible called "Chronicles", if I'm not mistaken. Which I very well may be.
Dave

You're right on the money Dave. Honestly I've never had a theist make fun of the name before. That just showed me that Vinny is still using the New World Translation.
He may have disassociated himself from the Witnesses, but it's very obvious that he hasn't left.

Do Not Directly Follow The Christ
Instead please follow the Governing Body, they're following the Christ for you. -

Paralipomenon
Living things aren't a single matter.
All a human body is a collection of dead matter working together.
Again your comparison is flawed because you do not understand basic biology.
Here is the chemical breakdown of an average human body, ranked by volume:
oxygen
carbon
hydrogen
nitrogen
calcium
phosphorus
potassium
sulfur
sodium
chlorine
magnesium
iron
fluorine
zinc
silicon
rubidium
strontium
bromine
lead
copper
aluminum
cadmium
cerium
barium
iodine
tin
titanium
boron
nickel
selenium
chromium
manganese
arsenic
lithium
cesium
mercury
germanium
molybdenum
cobalt
antimony
silver
niobium
zirconium
lanthanium
gallium
tellurium
yttrium
bismuth
thallium
indium
gold
scandium
tantalum
vanadium
thorium
uranium
samarium
beryllium
tungsten
Now please tell me which of those chemicals is defined as "life" as opposed to "dead matter".
In fact, the human body is, get ready for your "BWAHAHAHAHA" here...
100% dead matter!
The thing is sometimes this dead matter joins up with other dead matter to make more complex matter.
For instance when two parts of Hydrogen mix with one part of Oxygen they form water. (did you notice that the human body has alot of hydrogen and oxygen?)
Now in the universe there are all these chemical elements lying around and forming and breaking up with each other. They make compounds and these compounds make more complex compounds.
At what point are you classifying these "dead matter" compounds as "life"?
Did you even think of a baseline before you made the assumption?
So is this it? Can I add this as another notch in my belt for this claim?
I think I'll just start keeping track for my own amusement:
Outrageous Theories Debunked Unchallenged:
Vinny: 2
Perry: 1
Para: 0
Time to go home, I hope when I get to work tomorrow Vinny will have an attempt to earn one of those debunking points back. -

I'm a fan of "apocalypse delayed" by James Penton
It starts at the beginning of the witnesses and provides a very balanced history of the movement for better and worse. -

Keeping donations.
by LtCmd.Lore inokay, ever since i learned the truth about the org i stopped asking householders for donations.
i don't want them to support the worldwide work, or waste their money.. but, i was just wondering what the legal ramifications would be of asking for donations... and keeping them for myself.. i realise that i would have to change what i say... i wouldn't say: "if you'd like to make a small donation to the worldwide work i'd be happy to accept it.".
because that would be illegal, like keeping charity money or something.. i'd have to say something like: "if you'd like to make a contribution to cover the expenses, i'd be happy to accept it.

Officially, I'd say it would be classified as stealing. Would you ever find someone that would enforce it? Unlikely.
On the moral front, I'd say turn it in. The householder gave the donation to the cult because they feel it is worth the contribution. You could justify why they don't, or why you should keep it. The WTS calls it's justifications: "Theocratic Warfare". If you justify your own actions, and condemn the WTS, wouldn't that make you a hypocrite?
You're only ever accountable to yourself, it's just a question of where your personal bar for accountability is set. -

Baptisms being "annulled" - has anyone heard of this?
by misguided inlast weekend was a long weekend in bc, so i decided to try to get my family together for a camping trip.
i'm df''d so my parents can have no contact with me so refused my invitation.
my youngest brother was never baptized.

I've heard of baptisms being annulled by claiming you never got baptized. Generally they can't prove you did, since there is no legal signing and you can word a letter to them stating that they can't announce you "are no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses" since you claim to never have been one in the first place.
But yes, I've heard that once legal action is threatened, the elders realize that they are personally accountable and the WTS legal department won't help them, they back off quickly.
The Holy Spirit also directs the organization to cover it's ass! -

I especially liked the part where Vinny said:
******I always like it when atheists lose so badly that all they can do is bring up bwahahah while COMPLETELY AVOIDING THE ARGUMENTS SITTING IN THEIR LAP.
And he's has ignored all the counter arguments I've offered. I've seen several other people bring up well thought up challenges to his assertions but he's COMPLETELY AVOIDING THOSE ARGUMENTS SITTING ON HIS LAP.
At some point the mods are going to realize that he's only interested in a flame war and he will BWAHAHAHA his way to a ban. -

How do you think God feels about atheists? Angry? Amused?
by AlmostAtheist inhey guys, .
have you ever considered what god thinks about atheists?
assume for a moment that he/she/it is there: what's the reaction to non-believers?

I'm with Crumpet on this one.
What would be more important to a God? A person that doesn't believe in him personally but lives a good life, or someone that believes but doesn't show tolerance and affection for his neighbor. -

Does China Disprove Bible Prophecy?
by metatron inchina is rapidly emerging as second only to the us.
it's growth rates may allow it to pass the us.
yet, interpretations of daniel and revelation say nothing about this, at least.

Really the feet of the statue in Daniel's prophesy of iron mixed with clay signify the constant turmoil of the governments in the time of the end. Truly we can see the evidence of this by looking at the state of the world economy.
Does this not motivate you to preach even harder knowing the end is ever more near?
