i wrote a letter to pz myers about the sparlock vid and asked all of my ex-jw pals to do the same if they had a few moments.
and he posted about it!.
pz myers is huge in the skeptic/atheist community, so the vid is spreading to non-jws as well.
This is great news. Has anyone sent links to celebrity ex-witnesses asking them to tweet or "like" sparlock's facebook page? This is the stuff that will get it out of just the ex-witness community which has limited range, and put a bigger eye of scrutiny onto the Watchtower.
I would love Sparlock to become the Watchtower's 'crocoduck'.

I think the difference is this is actually lighthearted fun where the other issues were rather depressing or stirred up anger and resentment.
this story has been brought to my attention, and i thought i would share it with you all.. a very poorly young jehovah's witness girl in south australia has been ordered to have a blood transfusion.
the court heard that the girl, who suffers from leukaemia, would die "within weeks" if she were deprived of the life-saving treatment.. the parents appear to have put up a tacit fight for their rights to be respected, but their solicitor made some telling remarks when he said:.
"it's not like they are acting with callous disregard for her wellbeing or her future,".

I think inactive. My wife might be DF though since she chased two elders off our property and threated to call the police if they returned.
They actually did return a couple days later asking me if I felt the same way. At the time they visited, I was on the phone, my cell started ringing and the pasta was starting to boil over. I told them it really wasn't a good time at all and closed the door.
They might have taken that as an ommision of apostacy, but at this point I really don't care.

normally i don't go in for these conspiracy theory ideas, but a comment by kurtbethel on another thread got me to thinking.
might this latest dvd actually be proof that there are operatives inside watchtower hq who are deliberately sabotaging the society's material?

It's a perfect storm of awful that has a trainwreck effect. You just can't look away from how horrible it is.

You can circumvent this by editing the video slightly to allow it to be viewed as a parody.
Also, videotaping it playing on your TV is another way.
Taping a comentary and showing specific clips in a cutaway is also allowed.

i am so proud of what we have done with sparlock.. youtube is being flooded with videos.
Over on Yahoo Answers, the witnesses that post there don't know about the upcoming release and many are calling the video fake and made by Apostates to smear Jehovah's name.
They are in for a rude awakening when their District Convention hits.

there has been so many "dislikes" on sparlock clips i received a message from youtube.. i asked for people to "like" the videos instead of "dislike" because this will also push the videos to the top of searches and hopefully get more views especially for jws searching from it .. i am now getting abuse.. please can people "like" the clips so the balance between like and dislike gets reversed.. ty x.
Really, if this thing takes off and becomes viral it won't matter how many dislikes it has. For some things, the worse something is, the better it performs.
I wouldn't worrry about trying to bump it up. People viewing and linking to it will counterbalance the dislikes.
its portrayal of grey wolves was horribly inaccurate.
it will probably lead to an even more negative attitude toward wolves, which puts them in more danger.
i believe i read that the creators bought dead wolves while producing the movie.. its main characters' philosophizing was pretentious, cliched, and insulting to my intelligence.
What about Congo, where gorrillas are totally portrayed as aggressive killing machines?
Seriously though, unless it's a documentary or historical, I give movies a very wide berth in their storylines. I didn't feel after watching it that I had to go out in a helicopter and start sniping wolves.
