  i didn't know of some of these and question the status of others.

  it's been a long time since i was in the 'truth' .

  took a long long time to rehabilitate and among one of the things i had to do was learn to make friends.

  anyway, maybe will make more friends here, time will tell .

  Natural remedies

  over the last year, i've been exploring the use of herbs and supplements...hey, i'm gettin' old, and i need all the help i can get!

  lol.

  so, here's what i've tried (in addition to general vitamin supplements like b, c, and some other selected minerals):.

  However, I'd be interested in any comments y'all might have about the "supplement" approach to healthier living.

  I'm all for it...can't afford it. Can't get medical coverage for the natural stuff--the stuff that REALLY helps...but only for the pharmaceuticals (man-made drugs) which, for me, mask symptoms but leave the problems intact. The supplements help the body's own natural immune functions and self-repair/ maintenance mechanisms kick in. Man, I wish I could afford it!!

  i believe we all want to think that we are very much loved and respected.

  when we were in the "truth", we used to say that we knew our brother or sister would die for us----if they had to.

  but in reality who really loves us???

  I can honestly say, I have no fears in this regard...although, yes, as you pointed out here, those true friends---unconditional-love style of friends---are not from the so-called "Truth." Interestingly, though: They would continue to love and suppport me even if I returned to that hateful religion, even though *I* would be obligated to no longer show love and support to them....

  sweet post auld soul!

  I could not trust that deeply - I will always be slightly removed as I couldn't recover from a pain similar to that of losing the ones I trusted implicitly already. So in that sense you are right and I am shallow. I have chosen quantity over quality but simply to ensure I stay alive. Again obeying the baser instincts of survival.

  I was tempted, for a time, to adopt just this same self-saving (or, at least, as I thought of it) philosophy toward men and relationships, too. But after a time of further soul-searching, I decided I absolutely would NOT be able to be happy in a relationship withOUT that extra level of intimacy in whatever relationship I'm in...and without the secure trust that goes with it.

  I decided that I have those higher standards for my platonic female (and even male) friendships...the addition of sex to a [for me] male-female relationship should not change the level of intimacy that I want with my best friend--which is what I want, ultimately, my man to be.

  Like you, I enjoy--tremendously!!--all the pleasures and joys that the human body has to offer...I enjoy it as all the sweeter in context of a loving, commited, exclusively consensual connection.

  Here's hoping you get past the pain and move on to that extra level of exquisite sweetness!!

  I'm with Auldsoul on this one. And thank you, Auldsoul, for expressing it this way. I hadn't joined this thread because I was having a really hard time figuring out the way to respond. This hit the nail on the head squarely.

  If most here R anti jw why bother writing mean hurtful and prejudges posts?

  if most people are anti or ex jw why bother if you dont believe in it why waste your time writing mean hurtful and prejudges posts and set up a entire web site and forum dedicated to them.

  its a religion not a cult and people write about jw's as a whole everyone is an individual and just like the rest of the world there are nice caring people as well as bad awful people.

  jehovah witnesses dont set up web sites saying and exploting awful things that non jw's do to them, such as teasing bashing raping even murder..
