I met an ex jw at church today!

i recently wrote an email to my pastor and let him know of my story and journey up until this point.. he thanked me for blessing him with my story and had stated that he was praying for me and my situation and my 3 children.

he was very encouraging, positive, and loving.

after getting his quick response, i received another email from him stating that he had just received an email from another ex jw and how similar her story was to mine.

Welcome! I am so excited you met Jesus and you are seeing God work in your life. You will find these people to love you regardless of how many times you attend church or whether or not you stumbled over the weekend. Blessings to you~~! Enjoy the riches of His Grace and the wealth of true friends He is sending your way.

But please remember, in the midst of community- sometimes it can be messy. It's life and while we are all believers, we are also human. Love, forgive, embrace and endure the race!

but, in my arguably limited experience, i've been shot down while doing all of these (at differnt times obviously).

I just want to be heard, appreciated, respected and loved.

I've been told that women 1st and foremost want to just be loved whereas men want to be respected first.

These are some lame names my husband has had for me over the years:

My little 'dumb dumb' - that one didn't last long even when he did it playfully

Bug - don't ever know WHERE he got this one

Babe - but it is said in such a LAME way that we both start laughing.....kinda silly, but it just isn't 'him' to call me 'babe'

My Wife - not meant to imply ownership, just an affectionate name for me. It's grown on me now but when he introduces me I usually have to say my name. I casually say....AKA (my name)

Need Advice - Anyone in a divided (faith) household?

if anyone else out there is in a divided faith household, may i ask how it affects your relationship?

i am sorting trying to figure things out within my marriage as far as faith issues.

here is the background.. i was never a conventional jw.

Be patient. All is in God's timing if he is ever going to come around. Wouldn't it be nice to have a husband with a regenerated heart loving to be next to you on Sunday mornings compared to a husband who shows up for you and you alone?

Continue to pray for your husband but I also encourage you to pray for your own attitude towards him: not to be frustrated and to fully lean on God to bring him.

ENCOURAGEMENT: My neighbor is Korean. She is in her 60's and met her hubby overseas. She became a Christian about 6 years ago (she was buddhist). Out of the blue sky, her husband said he was going to start looking for a church. When he finds one she is going to change from her Korean speaking church to spend that time next to her man. Believe me, this is a miracle!

Chicago sighting.

i thought it was interesting that the pilots who saw a hovering craft were dismissed as having seen a strange cloud.. this is remarkably similiar to the bibles phraseology of the israelites seeing jehovah in a "thick cloud" etc.. also these pilots work in the clouds day in and day out.

i think they know the difference between a cloud and an object.

My father and his 4 brothers grew up on a farm in Iowa. Two of my uncles recall an event that happened years ago on two separate occasions. I don't remember one of the stories but I do remember one of them.

My uncle was walking home late at night and a saucer came out of nowhere and chased him through the bean fields. He swears he wasn't drinking and he tells the same story every time. Apparently many others have sighted similar crafts.

Age Differences in Relationships Help!

i find myself in a situation that has me very confused.

id like your input on this.

i work for a large company (over 550 employees) and as such, romantic and or sexual relationships between employees tend to develop every once in a while.

My husband is 10 years my senior and I wouldn't trade him in for someone closer to my age....or for anyone for that matter. I was 21 when we met and he is just as sexy today as he was then even though he is showing his age a bit faster than me these days....lol.

35? You have nothing to worry about! If the two of you enjoy each others company and have similar interests, why not?

I will share that 10 years is 1/2 a generation so there will most likely be SOME things that you will notice. ie - what you consider to be fun, clubbing vs. an evening at home, music tastes, etc.

Another factor that can come into play is whether or not one party has been married before. A married man at 35 will be much more mature than a man who has never been married and he's 35. That has been my humble observation. Throw a few kids into the pot and you really have a difference.

I'll never forget my dropping jaw when I found out hubby was 31 and had already been married.

I say GO FOR IT~!

I missed all of my sister's 20's

that means due to this vile cult i missed all of her 20's.

so desperately sad that a religion can break family ties this way.

My son just dumped my in the bathtub the other day. I don't have insurance on my phone so I was able to get a 'deal' based on paying on time for the past 5 months.

The dumb things was possessed after I dried it out with a hairdryer....scrolled and lit up by itself. I could still make calls through!

You may want to carry your phone somewhere else. Sounds like you are dangerous.
