My grandfather was gay, but no one outside our family new. My grandparents were also missionaries and he was and elder and if he did not get sick he was on his way to be a co or some sh** like that.

Sensational news in my Cong!
by Zico ini've just found out something that's going to be a massive thing in my congregation when it gets out.
it all starts with a former jw, who faded away probably about a decade ago, and then moved away, came out as a homosexual a few years ago.
he was never baptised, and he left so long ago, he never got chased up or disfellowshipped.

After a year of enjoying reading posts I've decided to join!
by Little G ini'm just an average guy that been there, done that in the jw domain :) .
i reached my "zenith" lol in such domain at the early age of 20 (i'm now 29) while expanding the work in various foreign language congs as a ms with almost all elder privileges except participating in jc's...the only jc i took part was mine last year :).
by the way, my last wife, a christian, caught me several times reading your posts... she thinks that all of us (including myself) are just a bunch of frustrated individuals...oh well no wonder she left :).

What's the longest you ever waited for an appointment?
by JH ini don't know if i set a record, but after 2 years and 2 months, finally the blood doctor will see me......lol.
this all started back 2 years and 2 months ago, when my family doctor noticed that i had too much iron in me.
so, he gave me a paper to go see a blood specialist.. so, after 1 year i phoned and they said it could take up to 2 years, and they told me to wait.

My First Shunning ...
by exwitless ina former good friend of mine (devout jw still) came into where i work.
i knew she was there, so i went right up to her and said, "hi".
she said "hi" with sort of a sick look on her face, and i said "how are you?".

Your favourite place....
by diamondblue1974 indo you have a favourite place in the world...if so where is it, why and do you have photos?.
mine has to be nisyros (a very small greek island near kos); i last visited there some years ago and ever since i was captivated by its beauty and tranquility.
in short its a volcanic island but unspoiled by tourism; the people are amazing and so down to earth.. take a look.

The Society's more permissive stance on blood fractions could kill my Mum!
by nicolaou inwe had my mum and dad down for a meal at the weekend.
me and mum have a kind of 'unspoken truce' going on where neither of us raise an issue in conversation that will lead to a discussion on any jw sensitive topics.
it's not perfect and it doesn't always work but at least we are maintaining a relationship of sorts.. anyway, knowing that this is the 'blood card' time of year i did take the chance on asking mum just what her personal stand on blood and fractions would be.

I donate blood on a regular bases and i vote. I kind of feel likes its my civic duty. I was in nursing school, quit to take care of my mother inlaw, I dont see anything wrong with accepting bloon in the USA.

RAPIST ELDER PLEADS GUILTY
by DannyHaszard in"i told the elders that my uncle was doing this to me and they handled it in the way that conformed to our beliefs," ward said.
"my uncle was an elder in the jehovah witnesses.
they said i needed another witness to believe my story.

Do you think the society would allow their followers to belive this though? I remember when cases would come out the elders would say some crap like "this is satan trying to give us a bad view" or "satan got to them" not oh that evil person, or some stuff like that. It seems when the light is upon the jdubs for a bad reason, its not their or that persons fault. They always try to cover it up.

Did leaving the borg ruin your marriage
by Billzfan23 inhas anyone else here left the borg and had it go over like a lead ballon, ruining their marriage?
mine is quickly heading that way.
i have been married for about a decade, and have a couple of kids - both in grade school.

Its sick and sad to say this but the borg is the reason why me grandparents were married in the first place!
My grandfather was gay and in the ARMY, he soon meet jdubs and he knew that he could not be gay and blah blah....He meet my grandmother and they got married....My grandmother still says he was a gay man at heart, which is very blant for her cause she is a STRONG jw.
