As mentioned earlier, a few threads above, Hovah does indeed mean Mischief and Ruin. Do you think the God of Israel would want to be called that? Also, as some may know, most dont, the word Jehovah was 1st coined in 1532 by Martin Luther......a tyrant who did killings of Jews in the name of the Lord. Also, and egt this, only SOME English-Speaking protestants..outside of the JWs, use this term. Many scholars feel that the word Jehovah is not a accurate representation of the lord, which I leaning towards agreeing with.
Does anyone have anything else to say about this that hasn't been said?

There is a denomination known as the Church of Christ. They have somewhat similar beliefs like the JWs (everyone is wrong but them,Baptismal by water saves you, I cant go to your church because it isn't a Church of Christ church, etc.) They do not believe that Salvation is of Works, only 144K will make it in heaven, or any of the major doctrines that JWS believe . One of the major issues i have with this denomination is that most of them do not listen to any minister that isn't a CoC member. My cousin constantly blast my Pastor every time I'm around him. You know how nausianting that can be when you done heard it for 10-15 years.

RAF, What you are discussing is the 2nd baptism, as most call it....Baptism in the Holy Spirit. I say, personally, less then 10% of all confessing Christians have actually been Baptized in the Holy Spirit for various reasons. JWS don't do it because must of them claim that they are not anointed for such. I can say that the Church of Christ don't even believ that he is still on Earth...um yea, OK. Naturally, you cant have what you don't believe in.

It's a commandment (yes, it will get tricky now) but it dosen't save you. Baptismal is the outward confession that you made Jesus as Lord. IMO, if you were baptized as a Witness, you need not to get Baptized again, unless you feel that you must do it again.

Some people get saved just seconds before they die...will Christ reject them because they didn't get Baptized? IMO, nope. God is trying to find any excuse to let you into Heaven. The JWs believe that God is trying to find any excuse to destroy you.

I can't create another topic, but the users name on YouTube is FullBag50. He says that the term 144,000 Is Literal. We know that the 144K is only mentioned 3 times in scripture as such, in Revelation, then he drops THIS bombshell on me. The book of Revelation, as is stated from the outset at 1:1, is a book of signs (therefore, not literal). If you take most of what is written in that book literally, you have a huge mess on your hands. Similarly, 'sons of Isreal' would mean God's specially chosen people, NOT natural born Jews.

she responded back: a sister (and i know her also) told me that her brother heard that the preaching is gonna be over because there are only two countries that jw can't go because it's too dangerous and yada yada yada.
