Well 2.
#1, 1 Cor 10:9. The NWT translation puts the word Jehovah in place for Christ. Yet, when using the KIT Greek,my Greek, and a Online Greek Bible, Christos is written in the Chapter, and not Jehovah....yet many JWs will argue up and down that Jehovah is to be there....dispite the fact that the Greek Word for Jehovah was never even used. How can one LOGICALLY argue that Christ is not suppose to be there, when their won Greek translation has it in there??
And #2, Does the WT have their own butchered definitions of words? Here is the Hebrew definition of the word God.
1. (plural)
1. rulers, judges
2. divine ones
3. angels
4. gods
2. (plural intensive - singular meaning)
1. god, goddess
2. godlike one
3. works or special possessions of God
4. the (true) God
5. God
Here is The Hebrew Definition of the word Jehovah:
Jehovah = "the existing One"
1. the proper name of the one true God
1. unpronounced except with the vowel pointings of 0136
And here is what God means in the Greek; (Keeping in mind that the word Jehovah dosen't appear in the Greek)
1. a god or goddess, a general name of deities or divinities
2. the Godhead, trinity
1. God the Father, the first person in the trinity
2. Christ, the second person of the trinity
3. Holy Spirit, the third person in the trinity
3. spoken of the only and true God
1. refers to the things of God
2. his counsels, interests, things due to him
4. whatever can in any respect be likened unto God, or resemble him in any way
1. God's representative or viceregent
1. of magistrates and judges

607 to 1914 calculation question
by bluebell inis there any culture that actually used years of 360 days length?
if so, surely there would still be some kind of leap year to correct the calendar, why is that not taken into account?
i'd never thought about it when i was a dub because you're not supposed to think!

The 1st Solar calender wasn't used until 45 BC, and even then, they were still making corrections.

What would happen if all of the "annnointed Ones" die before Jesus returns?
by A-Team in.....this is a hypothetical.
most of us know that they will change doctrine in order to keep this going.
but, if somehow the doctrine isn't changed, and there are no more 'anointed ones' left in the org....and if jesus hasn't returned yet...what happens then?

Is Sallvation a gift or by works? (An explination)
by A-Team inthis is for the jw lurkers out there.
now, lets look at how the word salvation is used in the bible.
we see that the word gift is used when the bible describes how one obtains salvation, but the word earned is never used.

This is for the JW lurkers out there.
1st off, lets look at the word Gift :
1. something given voluntarily without payment in return, as to show favor toward someone, honor an occasion, or make a gesture of assistance; present.
2. the act of giving.
3. something bestowed or acquired without any particular effort by the recipient or without its being earned: Those extra points he got in the game were a total gift.
4. a special ability or capacity; natural endowment; talent: the gift of saying the right thing at the right time.
–verb (used with object)
5. to present with as a gift; bestow gifts upon; endow with.
6. to present (someone) with a gift: just the thing to gift the newlyweds.
Now lets look at the word earned:
1. To gain especially for the performance of service, labor, or work: earned money by mowing lawns.
2. To acquire or deserve as a result of effort or action: She earned a reputation as a hard worker.
3. To yield as return or profit: a savings account that earns interest on deposited funds.
Now, lets look at how the word Salvation is used in the Bible. We see that the word Gift is used when the Bible describes how one obtains Salvation, but the word Earned is never used. So by the Bible, Salvation is something bestowed or acquired without any particular effort by the recipient or without its being earned.
Hopefully this will help anyone out who wonders why most non JWS think Salvation is a free gift. -

Unlike the WT, Im not trying to get everyone to agree with me. I'm just stating what I have researched and found so far. It all started a few months ago while I was watching CNN. If you dont agree with me, you have that right. I'm not saying Im right, Im just sating what I have found.

Yahovah was coined before Luther, correct. Jehovah was coined by Luther. It gets real complicated. The 'J' didn't become common until the 16th Century
