Surely we all judge whether we agree or disagree with a persons actions. If we choose to comment we are making a judgement. As for people thinking they are morally superior it appeared to me that all the comments made were made out of genuine concern for Mican. Most know and understand to some degree where he is coming from.........so whilst he has not committed any major crimes and it would appear does 'not have a bunch of bodies in his trunk'.........they are entitled to be concerned that is his behaviour may be damaging to himself and others.
It seems very obvious from one or two of his comments that he is at a very low point in his life and his actions appear to support that.........so is it wrong to to show concern whilst not approving of his antics.........telling him he is cool just doesnt seem to be of any benefit to him.
it would seem his is a lost little soul.......treading the difficult path of changing from a child into a man........fighting to be free of a religion his family is involved in.......and aware that he is causing pain to those he cares for.
So Mican whilst not all of us may agree with your actions we do recognise the pain your in and will be here for you if you need help or just some kind of sounding board..........but dont expect that all we hero worship acts of selfharm and foolishness.

single mom that needs a ride cause i have to walk with a stroller with my 4 yr. old toddler to the oakland congreations on oakland st. this is a very dangerous area of the city and because its blocks away from frankford ave. and lights and stores we could be attacked.

This thread makes me sad and angry......................sad for Linda who is obviously trying to 'please God' and 'put her life back into some order she feels comfortable with' and yet she is having to jump through hoops to please a bunch of guys basically. The part of it that makes me angry is in what I am about to say to you Linda...................Please think Linda.........do you really think God expects you to walk some distance with a small child in an area that is dangerous................do you really think it is right that God expects you to do this for some time without help, love or support............
Linda if there is a God and he cares for us, then surely he does not expect you to put yourself and your child at risk.........if you feel that you have done something wrong in Gods eyes then surely prayer to him is the answer.........not walking miles to sit and be ignored for months on end.
I am sorry if this seems a little harsh to you..........but your post makes me feel real sad for you.

Stomach Cramps? Medical people?
by RichieRich inabout 10am this morning i was following my roommate down the interstate (helping him move a few things) and all of a sudden, i had the worst pain i've ever felt in my belly.. the pain was between my nipples and the middle of my belly, but it was all around my body- even that section of my back hurt.
it felt like someone had tied a very tight band around my torso and was pulling it tighter and tighter.. after being in pain for only about 5 minutes, i had to pull over.
i jumped out of my car and ran over to the gaurd rail, thinking that perhaps i would vomit.

If you started your own 'brand of religion'......

it occured to me that there are a lot of thinking, intelligent and good people that use this board..........our views may differ.........some may believe in a god, others definitely dont and some sit firmly on the fence.......but what if we removed god from the equation....... what if we as members of this board had to suggest and formalise a 'way of living' that would be beneficial to all of mankind; what would your ideas be?.
i know some people may be offended to use the term religion as this immediately denotes gods involvement.......so lets call it the 'experience'........

Crumpet dearest.........first of all.......a big hug for you........next try to take a few deep breaths and chill........
It sounds like you need to put a bit of order and balance back into your life........you might need to actually take a couple of hours out of your busy schedule to do this..........so on a practical front you can organise some sort of plan to get your bills paid off and on a less practical side put some of the 'umph' and fun back into your life..........perhaps invest in some sort of 'self help' book (I know some people hate them) but they can help you re-focus and get motivated...
Its very hard to give advice when you dont really understand and know all the circumstances.........so here are a few quotes for you da'ling to inspire and soothe your troubled soul...

Crazy this is very likely a mad, mad time for him..................leaving the Jws is one thing.........being free of the mind control and brainwashing is another....................for your own sake, and i understand you love him, but you need to step back...........you cannot fix things for him and you must not be his point of blame...............my advice, limited as it is.......................is whilst he is not talking to you, let him be........dont try to force the issue........if he comes back, be frank with him about how you feel but dont let him lay his guilt and problems on you as if its your responsibility...........its not

How deep the brainwashing goes
by MadTiger inmy disfellowshipped buddy (his second time) is going through a rough spot.
he is on his way to his second divorce, he is facing multiple felony counts and one misdemeanor stemming from his chemical imbalance-and-asshole attitude-influenced rage.
he's on disability at 29 years old, but the payments can't cover his mortgage and other bills since his wife left with the children, one of which is not his, since she cheated on him during the previous separation.

I would say the reason he is in denial about the JWs at the moment is because it is the only vestige of 'normality' he has left currently. You could say the only anchor he has got is his 'belief system' as everything else around him is in complete turmoil. It will take time for him to sort all this out and as a true friend you should be there for him and support him as best you can. It may be too soon and too painful for him to accept that what he believes is a bunch of cadswallop!
Be patient with him and let him know you are there for him
