CoCo, there are 613 Laws that make up the Law Covenant with Moses, even though the Witness claim they have been freed from the Law Covenant they still cling to many parts of it so 613 was the number to use as they still cling to the Law in essence. There have been so many stupid laws made up from different parts of the globe and it amazes me how so many witnesses take this a rule and there is no substance behind the rule.

Must go to assemblies in recognition of the three festivals that the Isrealits had

Cant carry the mics unless you are in good standing

Cant give parts on service meeting in way of demonstrations unless you are in good standing

Cant be recommended unless you are getting in 10 hours or the national average in FS

How to get a scriptual divorce?

just wondering on how it is possible to get a scriptual divorce as my dad needs to get one but as much research done i can't see how he can get one but he says he has spoken to some elders and that they have said it can be granted but on what grounds?.

i know if you have committed adultery and extreme cases disertion but other that these is there any way else.. you see my mum basically up and left my dad and they have reconciled once but now its definately over and have a legal divorce, so would disertion come under this catorgory?

also my mum has battled mental illness(mainly major depression) for as long as i can remember can he do it on the grounds of mental capacity?.

Only if the innocent mate is unwilling to forgive and then files for the divorce. Seen it work both ways depending on your motive, but you can't fool God either way.

Dress Code and Conduct Policies?

do jw's have a dress code in general and for field work?

the gals i know always look put together.

i live in a hick town where it pours rain and is muddy.

Yes they strongly encourage nice modest clothes and a nice clean car that you can put tons of miles on driving from one end of the territory to the other end as you count your time. The nice suggestion they give you is that you are suppose to provide for all of this with no higher education, dont work unneccassary overtime and it would be nice if your wife can pioneer and not have to work. Unbearable loads is what Jesus called it.

it's been a long time since i posted here, i've been lurking for a while too but now i would like to share my experience.

i would also like to hear your experience.

I was DF'd 6 1/2 years ago and it took me about 2 years to get over the anger, hatred, disillusion and every other negative emotion that I had and I took it out on God and Christ. About 4 years ago I turned to the Bible and nothing but the Bible and prayer as my search for the Real God of the Scriptures and it has been the most enlightening thing I have ever experienced as I have a closer relationship with Jehovah and Christ then ever. I have read things in the Bible many times and only now with prayer and humility do I see things so much clearer and I can say all praise to God through Christ that I feel and know the freedom that Christ taught and to be free from the cult and all it's pain. It was a rough road but I can say that I am totally over it and feel sorry for all those who still feel the tenacles of despair from the WT.

Do you, too, see JW chronology numbers everywhere?

i regulary look at my digital alarm clock and it says "19:14" and i think "hmm, used to be the end of the 'gentile times'" than i take a look at my number of posts and i have already passed 1914, 1918, 1925. when i look at car plates i get reminded of year numbers having been hammered into my brain.

well, this is not really serious, but i get always reminded of my jw past.

i have to add that chronology was something important to me and carl olof jonsson's book "the gentile times reconsidered" was an important one for me.

TRUE STORY---I had a witness elder plumber in my house doing work as suggested we should use the brothers. I went to pick my daughter up at school only to find him in my den looking through all my personal papers and bills and accounts when I returned 15 minutes later. Not feeling a bit remorsed when confronted he charged me labor time during his noseyness. How loving, I wouldn't hire a JW for anything, my personal experiences with them and I have about 15 years worth, is cheats and liars.

TRUE STORY----Hired a witness elder to pave my driveway on my third house following suggestions to use my brothers. My driveway should have taken 77 tons of blacktop as I was in construction I knew this. They used 52 tons and in six months when my driveway was cracking he accused me of driving heavy equipment on it and wouldn't fix it without payment even though it had a year warranty. When brought in later for a investigative committee, I brought this to the elders attention and told them he should be disfellowshipped for using false scales which Jehovah hates. They couldn't wait to get out the door and dismissed my meeting in minutes.

I read this yesterday and used it with my daughter and several others today and it is unbelievable but it is what we should expect when Jesus tells us about false teachers and those who follow them in Matt 23

Anybody who has been associated with the witnesses for any amount of time knows this to be true, a real shame and more reproach on God and Christ.
