if i remember well, i used altavista back in the mid 90's.

i'm 36, have 3 kids and was raised in the 'truth'.. since i was about 18 i realized that things weren't quite 'right' but stuck around mostly because my family is so much a part of it that if i left i'd have nobody.

i've been df'd 2 times...got reinstated the last time with the intention to just drift away after so that i could stay around my family and do my own thing.

i was listening to richard dawkin's talk at lynchburg va and he was tlaking about how horrible the god of the old testament was- and he mentioned this: .

that when jeptha's daughter came out (and jeptha had promised god he'd sacrifice the first thing out of his house) that he had to sacrifice her as a burnt offering.

Welcome Vinny, I read the whole letter and certain parts twice, unrefutable evidence and excellent points, the way it flowed and the logic, great to have you a part of the forum and family, sorry about your wife and I too feel the same way about God, love Him and I no longer either feel the witnesses have it together, I actually think they are falling apart from within even though many will stay the course in view of all obvious points and many others that you and thousands have voiced. What a double standard, examine your religion but not mine and even when John says we should in 1 John 4:1,2. Funny when you see the whole picture you sit back and say to yourself, Just how blind was I? Thanks for the letter and look forward to your input to help others here on the forum.

was reading all posts and saw that 'crumpet' had mentioned in one that all families whould not have anything to do with inactive family members, that this will be coming in the next circuit assembly.

how forceful is this 'new/old' command?.

A former "Bethelite" JW's friend of mine wants to "Disassociate".

a friend of mine that was at bethel when the "change" came out about the "generation of 1914" in 1995 wants to "disassociate" himself but is terrified that his family especially his mother(who is of the annoited) will totally shun him.

his whole family are jw's his uncle an elder, his sisters pioneers, etc; any advice i could give him?

i know what it is like since my mom has been a devout jw's since 1967.

I agree with AuldSoul, get him to post here and see what might be his best options, I would encourage him to fade and save all the hurt of DFing or DAing
