I think you are making the mistake of believing everyone's priorities are the same as yours. I have read some of the posts about the documentary, but I'm not really interested in seeing it. I'm not a JW any more, I know what they are like, the documentary seems to be more aimed at people who don't know much about the WTBTS. I have other things to do with my time than go see a documentary about an organization with which I am unfortunately very familiar.

I am surprised
by DazedAndConfused ini thought my initial post about this was important, at least more important than this post "fluff thread - what's your view on farting in public?
" please read on.. i started a thread entitled "free knocking preview on thursday in pittsburgh, pa." i thought a few people at least, if not a lot, might respond with thoughts about how to approach this subject if one to were to actually go to this "free" viewing and discussion.. i am specifically alerting others that it is a free showing of the program and that the director is going to sit down and discuss this program (free i might add) with anyone that wants to discuss it.. i am not from the pittsburg area and was hoping someone might go to the viewing and state "our" views on the knocking program.
i have seen many threads dealing with the program and thought someone might be interested in anti-witnessing.

I'm sorry you are so stressed - I think you are depressed because you are stressed - I don't have any kids so I don't have anything useful to say on that front, but I understand stress. Sometimes the only thing to do is put one foot in front of the other and try not to think too much about it all. Find some little pleasure in each day, even if it's just five minutes of peace to drink a cup of coffee. My stomach hurts right now, a lot of rotten stuff going on in my life and I feel like a little boat bouncing around on a big angry sea, and the mailman tried to deliver a registered letter today (I wasn't home) and all I can think is "what now?" I'm going to go water the back yard and look at the view and try to get some composure. I get how you feel - sometimes there are just too many stresses in life. So hang in there! and vent on this forum, I find that really helpful. I'd like to hear how it goes for you.

nice cool living room - I have a gorgeous view, but it's hot out there, rather early in the year. If you want to see my view, go to this web page: http://www.palm-springs-photography.com/dhs_windmills_snow.html and you'll see my little town and our BIG view. My house is near the bottom edge of the picture, which is actually at the top of the hill, looking down across the valley to the mountain across the way. Of course, the snow has melted, but otherwise, that's my view.

YOUR DAILY JOURNAL
by compound complex indear friends,.
much of what we do on a daily basis is routine and of no particular, earth-shaking importance.
however, after reviewing letters of family going back to wwii, it is fascinating to read what dad was doing on board the aircraft carrier in the pacific on any old day, what mom was cooking on her ever-steaming range, how i was dealing with the roller coaster of emotion at bethel [mom saved all my letters], how nana wrote that she would not study with the witnesses [per my request] but 'here are some mittens i knitted for you when you canvass new york with your magazines.

such interesting stuff - I read Pepys's diary years ago - enjoyed it, and the "Journal of the Plague Year" by Defoe. I haven't thought of Yma Sumac in years - and I loved "The Turning Point." I went to work yesterday, caught up on two weeks worth of Quickbooks posting and payroll reports. Then ran some errands and SCORED big time at a thrift store - two three-drawer bedside tables. Have been looking for some, but didn't want to pay $400 or so for a pair. Paid $40 at the thrift store which is a lot better, and they are pretty and look good with my bedroom furniture. Today hours of house cleaning, now all is ready for the week. I have some work to do on the computer, but first lunch and some JWD forum. Nice cup of coffee, watered my garden (one pot) and stuck my head outside to see how hot it is. Was 106 yesterday.

I had that happen to me - the number lock key was pressed by my cat as she walked across the keyboard. Unfortunately at the same time I got a virus and never could get the keyboard fixed even after the virus was removed. Took the laptop to various technogeeks, still couldn't get it fixed, so finally had to buy a new computer. It's not like a desktop where you just replace the keyboard. I really hope you get yours straightened out.

there was no corroborative witness to the sexual abuse, so the crimes against children unit could not recommend to the district attorneys office to press .... suit claims years of abuse by fatherryan orr2007-04-28 00:02:00apple valley a former apple valley resident has filed a lawsuit alleging sexual abuse against the apple valley cheyenne kingdom hall of jehovahs witnesses, which is named in the complaint as roe, and her biological father, a church minister.

one of the amazing things about this forum is, whenever the discussion turns to child abuse, how many people speak up and say they believe it because it happened to them. I have to say I believe it, because it happened to me too. There's your two or more witnesses against the org. at least - the amazing number of people who had this experience of being abused and having their abusers sheltered by the org. In my case, the abuser was my unbelieving father. What the org. did was tell my mother she HAD to stay in the marriage, because in god's eyes her husband was her 'head.'

well you have to be careful about exposing abusers like that - as they can turn and play victim very well and you can find yourself in trouble. This attorney sounds like a tough woman who has also the legal knowledge and ability to pursue the matter.

reasoning
by BR25 ini read most of the posts on here and i was just trying to get an understanding on certain topics.
i read some peoples material and why they dont believe in the jw faith.
i understand that some people left the jw faith and some people on here may never have been jws or believed in it, so i understand why you post and give info back and forth, but i have trouble understanding some of the disfellowshipped ones on here.

"Most of you dont know what is said on here, what scriptures or info is on here, but when you find out, your posts turn into I am glad I am out, I always knew that it was a false religion, and so forth. This is total BS in my opinion, most of you probably dont know or think these things till you come on here, and some of you would never come on here if you did nothing wrong and you know it."
I just read this over again. Kinda arrogant, aren't you? You don't even know the people who post here - you don't know anything about any of us except what we post here. So how can you generalize like this? If you don't like what you are reading, go judge the folks on some other forum.
