It's just a stupid corrupt religion, like all the rest of them. What puzzles me is why a gay man would want to be a catholic priest, anyway. Why participate in a religion that persecutes them?
so my family has obviously been noticing over the past several months that i've been missing meetings and fs.

At least that's what I hear on the news. Can't be true. What about that guy who leaked all that info about the govt spying on us and then disappeared from Hong Kong? Do you think that's a sign of the time of the end -- the government spying on everyone?"

I never was a LOTR fan, nor a Star Trek fan. I'm a Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch fan. I have to admit, though, much as I like BC, his voice can get so boring it could put you to sleep. It's a deep dreamy voice, but sort of monotonous.

I downloaded The Hobbit. Didn't see it in theaters because at nearly three hours, it's just too damned long. Not sure I'm going to make it through the whole movie. I'm an hour into it. First, lots of Disneyesque stuff -- dinner with dwarves singing and throwing dishes. Then violence -- beheading, lots of dead people, blood everywhere. Then more disney -- a wizard tripping through the woods with a bird's nest under his hat and a pet hedgehog. I had to quit watching and test my blood sugar (disney) and blood pressure (violence.)
Has anyone here seen it? Worth watching to the end? I wouldn't watch it at all except I sort of like Martin Freeman as an actor. Maybe I'll have to just watch a few minutes a day. Don't know which is worse -- the cutesy disney stuff or the blood and guts.

the whole family goes, everything is great.. my daughter comes home talking about her friend that had his first communion.
I think you can create some good family traditions, have good times with your kids, without going to church to accomplish it. Why not volunteer together? Hike together? Build stuff together? Lots of things are possible.

i agreed, if only because i want to see my friend of many years.
the 'heavy' is a large, imposing man with a booming voice and is a creature of the gb through and thru (eg only visited his dfd dad on his death bed because it was a 'good witness' to the hospital staff) and i'm feeling stressed about seeing him.
i so badly wanted to see my friend though, i agreed without thinking and now wish i hadn't have.
