  had a nice long conversation with my "spiritual" neighbor, a little old lady who believes everything she hears.

  she was telling me about emotional healing which you do with a chart that tells you what your emotions mean and how to heal them.

  it wasn't very clear, i still don't understand what the treatment part of it is, and she couldn't explain it.

It wasn't very clear, I still don't understand what the treatment part of it is, and she couldn't explain it. But it's wonderful stuff and really works.   Then she said that another neighbor "does it with dna." I asked what that meant, what does he do with DNA and how? So she told me that DNA has the blueprints for a perfect body/mind/soul but it is all filled up with junk because of the way we live, and you have to cleanse the DNA by meditation, supplements, that sort of thing.

  So I gave a little discourse on DNA, as much as I understand of it, including the idea that there is a lot of junk code in DNA, but that is from mutations that turn out to be useless, but are passed down through generations anyway. She said, "yes dear, it's all full of junk and you have to clear your DNA and then you can be perfect!"

  Living here in this northern California holy land, I am amazed all the time at the new and strange ideas people have about the world and how it works. It seems to me they just learn new vocabulary and run with it, not bothering to do a little investigation about what it really means.

  I tell you what: I need to start a new age movement of some sort. There's money in it! I wonder if people would go for the idea of having their Tarot cards read by an atheist who want to make some cash, just a little bit of cash without much work.

  many other so called ice cream at grocery stores as well.

  have you noticed how it seems to be different than from a couple years ago?

  that it doesn't melt, it just warms up and becomes like a whipped cream texture?

  Lisa Rose -- I'm with you on Nutella. I hate that ad on television that claims Nutella on toast is a "healthy" breakfast. It's high in unhealthy fats -- let's make kids even fatter than they are now, eh?

  As for ice cream, I'm with you all on that, too. I'd rather eat a little bit of expensive real ice cream than lots of the chemical stuff. Fortunately, if you really like ice cream, it's not hard to make at home.

  Do you smile and wink at him when he glares at you? Do you tell him how much you appreciate his rapt attention when you are on the stage, because it means he has your back? Do you thank him for setting that wonderful example?

  TTATT family blow out

  for those of you who have a minute to read this, here is a report from my family trip.. i was in florida for the holidays visiting my older sister and family, along with my parents which were also visiting.. although i've had conversations with my mother about the organization, my sister and her family had no idea of my position in regards to the (un)truth - perhaps because we live far away from each other.

  i knew the day was coming.... on my second day there, the whole family was sitting around bs-ing about different stuff, and as usual my mother starts with the "world is getting worse by the day" conversation, followed by approving nods and smart remarks from the rest of the family.

  i then politely told them that this was not true, that in fact the world has never been better.

  The Pastor of my Old Church Tried to Re-Convert Me Yesterday

  yesterday evening my wife and i were invited to friends house for new year's eve.

  we met them when i was a christian and we have kept in touch.

  they had a few other friends there as well, including the new church pastor and his wife.

  Very cool conversation! Interesting that the pastor ran through his list of explanations and you blew each one out of the water leaving him with nothing to say. I sincerely hope he thinks about it, though.

  Winter in China - Snow in Kunming

  kunming (capital of yunnan province in south china, near the border with myanmar) has a reputation of being a city with a climate of perpetual spring.
