My son has made his decision

the financial aid offer came in.. the first year of attending is actually cheaper than what we were going to pay at the state university after their scholarship offer.. i mean, really cheaper.. we would be fools to turn it down.. they are even flying him in for the preview week.. .

What if I am a disfellowshipped public school teacher?
by bsand20 incould a parent put in a complaint to the school district and request that their child be transferred out of my classroom because i am exjw?
if they give me the jw school brochure (do they still do that?
sorry its been 16years since i've been out) can i just tell them i'm familiar with their teachings or should i just pretend i'm new to their teachings?....i'm a freshman in college so i have still a long ways before this situation is presented, however i"m trying to get prepared for it.

I don't think that it's your problem at all. No reason to tell them anything about yourself, you don't have to answer to JWs. If a parent of any religion writes a request that the child not participate in some activity, I think you have to go along with it, but maybe school policy would have some effect on that too. Don't think you have to follow JW rules, just because you know what the rules are. Outside the KH, they have no real effect.

Well, whatever craziness happened on that flight -- and it does sound like some sort of hijack was happening -- I imgaine that plane is at the bottom of the ocean. Poor passengers -- how frightening it must have been.

Over 7yrs as a JW and I just found out I'm not supposed to buy Girl Scout Cookies?
by Maat13 ini'm still in the matrix(the truth), but 'morpheus' and his team are valiantly working on a way to get me out.
in the meantime, everyday i am discovering so much about being a jw i never knew, like don't buy girl scout cookies, that i keep asking myself "what have i got myself into".. maat.
really lame for a first post, but i figure i should start some where.

My Window Cleaner
by happy@last inmy window cleaner is a jw and as i am always working when he comes to my house i haven't seen him or spoken to him in years.
the other day i was in my local town and went into a cafe for some lunch.
who is sitting there but my window cleaner and his wife.

I've been reading about it. I wonder if he just went into a rage and shot her (and WHY did he have that kind of bullet in his gun?), now he's really getting what he did in a very graphic way. Should have learned to control his temper earlier in life, before he took someone's life.
Is he sick over what he did to her? Is he sick over what he did to himself?
