I have one called "Daisy" from Marc Jacobs. It's a light fragrance, lovely but barely there. I like it for when I'll be in a group of people, so no one is overwhelmed by it. White Shoulders is my favorite of all time, but it's a little more powerful than Daisy.

too nice and polite
by Phaedra inanyone finding themselves being labeled as "too nice" or "polite" after being a lifelong jw and integrating into the "new world" of realistic beings?.

You'll get over it when you discover you have boundaries and preferences and personal standards just like anyone else.
And when you're old enough and have nothing to lose (welcome to retirement!), you'll give up being polite completely in favor of being real. Doesn't mean I'm a rude old bitch, just that my kindness has limits, eh?

Well, I'm not in it for religious reasons -- I like the bright lights, cheerful sounds and good food! Brightens up the darkest part of winter and is so lovely to see. Merry Whatever folks - have a lovely, fun-filled solstice, whatever you call it.
Colorful twinkling lights, dark road through town, rain on the windshield, interesting smells as you pass the homes, restaurants, and christmas tree lots.
If it weren't for the fire danger here in the forest, we could build a huge straw man and set it on fire on the solstice. That and a mug of hot cocoa would be a good celebration to the end of shorter days.

Funeral for an atheist
by Stealth in99% of all funerals that i have attended have been the wt version, where they preach about the resurrection into paradise and say little about the person who passed other than they were loyal to jah.
the other 1% catholic for grandparents.. now that i consider myself an atheist, i got to wondering what do atheists plan for when they die?.
if you are a non-believer what are your plans for when you die?

Doesn't matter to me. I won't know anything about it. I told my sister to spend as little money as possible on my cremation and to dump the ashes under a rose bush somewhere when no one is looking. If my relatives want a ceremony of some sort, that's up to them. I don't think it will happen, though. However, I did tell my sister I want some kind of smart-ass tombstone if she buries my remains -- something that will give people a laugh and certainly nothing sentimental.

White Shoulders -- the original one, not the one they sell now. The one you can buy nowadays doesn't have all the essentials oils the original one had. When I wear it I always get compliments, even though I only wear a little of it. I'll feel really sad when I run out of the good stuff. It's considered a white floral -- tuberose, gardenia and flowers like that.

My difficulties in writing academic essays, contrasted with the same difficulties by NK elites
by fulltimestudent ini struggle to write good academic essays.
i'm never happy with the result of my labours.
i've had a few hds, but still feel they lack something.. for some months, i have been pondering why i have this problem, and the realisation is becoming clear that my problem is the result of having my brain washed clean by jesus for 40 years (my period of enslavement to the wt cause).

Are the scriptures and literature of the Jehovah’s Witnesses open for interpretation and criticism? Has there been a time where you yourself have questioned the teachings or scriptures? If yes, can you be specific about what you have questioned?
The scriptures and literature of JWs are absolutely NOT open for interpretation and criticism. Criticism, or even just asking questions, is considered rebellious and can lead to your being called an apostate. Apostates are shunned and condemned.
I never questioned the teachings until I had been out of the Watchtower Society for a while. I quit going because I was overwhelmed, worn out and depressed. Once I had some space to think for myself, I realized that I didn't believe any of their doctrines. I'm an atheist -- because of the fossil record and DNA mostly, but also because the whole idea of god seems ridiculous.
I don't know that my answers are very helpful. You might want to contrast our answers with answers from those who are still true believers. Maybe post your questions on some JW facebook page? I think the contrast might be very interesting.

Pat Condell on Britain's Cultural Crisis
by cofty ina scandal is brewing in the uk.
for many years gangs of asian men engaged in rape and torture of young girls who were in the "so-called" care system.
it is believed there were around 1,400 victims in north west england, focussed on the town of rotherham.. if reports are to be believed, social workers, police and the cpc knew it was happening and everybody failed to act for one simple reason.
