that gave me an idea - why don't you call the FE and the former flatmate and say "I really don't want to talk to you because you are scum sucking liars, but my conscience is bothering me and I need to tell you that I was playing with the oiuja board in that apartment, and I watched demonic movies, and learned how to use cyrstals to foresee the future, and I stored them in that furniture until I moved. I'm really afraid the furniture is now demonized."

yeah, right, everyone is equal, but some more equal than others...didn't I just read that on another post? (yes, I know it's a quote.) The only way the elders seem different from other clergy is that they don't wear funny clothing, so strangers can't tell how special they are.

well, I guess I've been swearing so badly lately that one of my employees told me I had been throwing too many "f-bombs." And it is starting to piss off my husband, so I may have a problem here. My kindest name for other drivers is "asshole" although I have used worse. Otherwise, not too bad, don't drink as I don't like the feeling or the calories, don't do pot as I am allergic, don't do other drugs as they make you stupid. Don't smoke, although as someone else posted, I dream about smoking because my father was a smoker. In my dreams it tastes pretty good, but when I tried it, Yuck.
I've never cheated on anyone, but when I left the org., I kinda made up for lost time for a while. I had a funny experience when my extremely judgemental sister called me on my behavior and how it was a "bad influence" on her already criminal daughters. I said, "you know, I've screwed around a lot, and all I ever got out of it..." pause for my sister to lean forward expecting me to confess my mistakes, "all I got out of it was a GOOD TIME!" Made her laugh and pissed her off at the same time.
now that I am married (14 years now) I am not interested in screwing around, but it was fun while it lasted.

BEWARE THE CYBERPATHS!
by gumb inbeware the cyberpaths!.
in the years that i've taken part in various web discussion groups, from time to time i've come across people that i can only describe as "cyberpaths".
"trolls" is of course another term for them, although i don't believe all trolls are necessarily people with personality disorders.

well, I'm noticing something about myself on this forum. Most people think I'm pretty funny and I laugh a lot, like a good joke, tell a pretty good joke, but somehow on this forum I don't always get the jokes - someone has to tell me it's a troll or it's a joke - and I don't sound funny, I sound preachy. Hmmmmm..maybe I'm not a forum kind of person. This is the only forum I ever participated in, because I really relate to the whole ex-JW experience.

What is your idea of worship?
by journey-on inwhen i was a jw, my idea of worshipping god was to put in at least 10+ hrs.
in fs monthly, attend 5 mtgs per wk, study for those meetings, make back calls (or what is now called rv's), conduct bible studies, have a family study once a week, pioneer when able, go to all the assemblies, etc.
what, if anything, do you consider worship?.

Worship what? Worship whom? I don't worship anyone - I firmly believe everyone has the right to believe or not to believe - and I won't preach to you if you don't preach to me. I guess that sums up my 'religion.' As for living a spiritual life, which I take to mean not living like animals but using our higher nobler mind, trying to carry our own loads, pay our own way, do what kindnesses we can, share when we can, try not to harm others, have a good laugh every day. "Try" is the operative word - not always successful.

"I'd love to comment but my own guidelines restrict me to replying only to posters of a 3 post per day average or higher!"
Why? Not being argumentative, just wonder - I don't post three times a day but I don't think I'm a troll, either, so I'm kind of curious as to how you came up with this guideline.

I went to a strip club with an old boyfriend once - told him I wanted to see what goes on there so he took me. I thought it was very sad, the women weren't pretty, just young and kind of flabby looking, the men all looked lonely, everyone there in his/her own little world. They weren't very good dancers, either and it didn't look as if anyone was having a good time. So not my thing. I can see how it would be damaging to family life if the husband/father spent his time and money in places like that.
