after being raised in the watchtower organization and having survived all of what that entails she has picked up the pieces, analyzed her strengths and has made choices to better herself and the community.. .

My Letter to Brooklyn about the Parousia that got me disfellowshipped

this is the letter i wrote back in '96 about the parousia.

following the '95 watchtower that disconnected the "generation" from 1914 i began to look carefully at end-time prophecy and soon discovered what i knew were basic errors in what i had been taught.. i was a loyal jw at the time and was still serving as an elder.

i used only watchtower publications in my research.

It's kind of fun to watch what happens when some narcissistic asshole can't make you roll over. I love watching the emotions flit across their faces when they realize there's nothing they can do, watch them go through all their tricks and tools to no avail.

Cargo cults: scary indictment of human nature

during wwii, isolated islands full of aboriginal people were suddenly inundated with civilization far advanced from anything they'd ever seen.

to them, it was magic from the gods.

after the soldiers left, the islanders built bamboo planes and control towers and cleared makeshift runways and talked nonsense into coconut headsets.

It is pretty interesting that the cargo cult still exists. Paul Theroux in one of his books talks about it, I think it's his book about the islands of Oceana.

so after our incident today i let some time pass so as not to kill the mood and bring up all the annoying watchtower stuff.

however i said, "babe seriously, i know you were upset about the other issue but you seem to just never want to even think about borg stuff again!

i am glad - don't get me wrong - but so i can reall understand please tell me what was it that made youjust wash your hands clean so fast?".

What kind of meals do you like to fix for a company?

Are you coming over? If the weather suits, I like a roast, veggies and big salad, home made bread, lots of berries and whipped cream for dessert. However, today is too hot. So big salad, piece of chicken and iced tea. Is that OK with you? Watermelon for dessert.

Looooooooooong Prayers...

let's have a bit of a laugh.. .

who of you rolled your eyes when brother never ending prayers was called up to give the closing prayer?.

who of you then proceeded to tap your feet, fidget loudly or start doing balancing acts off the back of the chair in front of you while waiting for it to end?.

I remember the last prayer at the Rose Bowl one year, can't remember who but it was GB. Maybe Franz. It had been a long week and it was hot. The prayer went on and on, and eventually people started sneaking out. They couldn't take it any more. Then we were all stuck in a huge traffic jam in the parking lot, stuck there for hours before it all straightened out. What a long boring day.
