Things you did to pass the time at meetings/service/assemblies/conventions/memorials
by OneDayillBeFree ini'm currently at the meeting again... i'm always in the back working the sound cause everyone else can't seem to work it and i'm mostly on my phone reading jwn or writing, or doodling or sometimes i just stare at the audience to see who's falling asleep or daydreaming.
its really the only way i can still sit through these things.. but i remember getting the number of a girl i used to like at one district convention and we would text each other during the program and talk about how boring it was.. i also remember sneaking out of a circuit assembly and going to see a car show that was going on right next door.
that was fun!.

1998 in Hawaii I picked up a Pidgin English Bible = Da Jesus Book. In the 'Last Days' of my attending the KingdomHell I used it to look up scriptures. Nobody ever thought it wrong because it is a Real Bible. In fact others would ask to pass it down to share. One time a Bro used it to comment from. HILARIOUS!

I am in central Washington, about 100 miles from Seattle. If your route takes you through the Pacific NorthWest you are very welcome to 'camp' in my backyard. I have a guestroom and pets are welcome as well. We have a cousin, former Cal State Patrol who rides his Harley from San Diago to visit us every summer. We love to extend hospitality to 2wheel friends w pups.

Regular Pioneer hour requirement?
by tinker inmy son the 'elder' stopped in last night.
he does not shun us but our visits are few and far between.
he mentioned in passing that he and his wife began reg pioneering last oct. i know the hour requirement is way down from my pioneering years of 100hr per month.

@DLLamb, thank you for your kind consideration of my feelings, wow, very sweet.
I am not too sensitive when it comes to anything Jdub related. I love my son with all my heart but it breaks my heart knowing he is so blinded by this cult. He refers to himself as a 'servant' in a humble way and I do believe he is honest in counting his 'time' But his time is so wasted on the lies of the WTBS. How and why does an intelligent young man continue to Believe? I am dumbfounded.
My DIL is also in the full time 'secret service' :-/ She is a runner and trains for marathons, teaches aerobics and her house is very clean. I'm talking cRaZy clean = sign of a wasted life, ouch. I can't for the life of me figure out when she works D2D??? and she sure doesn't visit the old or sick, give public talks or serve on the RBC. Maybe the time she spends with her cute baby niece 9mos, they study the Great Teacher book??? that must be it.... stop it now tinker.

Thank you baltar447. Hum 70hr. That must be why he only has 1hr for his old folks every 3mos. And Zero hrs for his 93yr old grandmother. She is/was a very active Jdub up until she developed dementia. She came to live with me and my non-witless children see her often. The 'elder' son has seen her 1 time last year. I suppose his 'life saving' work of pioneering, RBS and congo services keep him real busy. Too busy to care about his family.

I smoked my first ever anything just a couple years ago. A beautiful cigar that I don't remember the name of. I am a Single Malt girl so I every once in a while a cigar is just that extra treat to take the experience up one notch. My most unforgetable Scotch and Cigar adventure was a hot summer night at low tide in Seal Beach, Ca. We lite cigars, waded into the surf up to our knees and shared a flask of 12yr old. Perfect and amazing.
btw: my daughter was DF'd over a cigar. Not smoking it but a picture of her pretending to smoke it. When asked if she smoked and said No, they produced the photo and promptly DF'd her for lying. She was on her way out anyway so did not dispute their call. That was just one more brick in my own wall to block them out of my life.

Woody Allen Jesus
by Qcmbr inplease don't watch if you don't like tim minchin or you really like j. but really its not that bad and oddly insightful but it is irreverant.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sfdujlebzu.

I discovered Tim Minchin just a few months ago and I am In Crush with him. I adore wit and satire and his music could stand on it's own. Just heard Woody Allen Jesus this morning after it was cut from a British talk show. He wrote a clever rant.
His 'White Wine In The Sun' is my new favorite Christmas song. Check it out on Youtube = beautiful and smart
