If you want to leave the truth, just walk away!
by moomanchu ina close relative recently called me verbatim, "a bad, bad, bad apostate and a sinner against the holy spirit" .. the apostate remark didn't bother me, actually it's a compliment when you think about it.. saying i was a "sinner against the holy spirit" that did bother me.
this got me to wondering about all the names, accusations and labels given to people who don't want to be a jw anymore.. doing a quick search in the insight books i came up with a list.. apostates pg.126, antichrist pg.116, man of lawlessnes pg.
310, resurrection - sinning against the holy spirit pg.

How to find new friends?
by socialdistortion inhi... my name is chrissy & i have been away from the "truth" for 8 years now.
i married a "brother" when i was 20. i was humiliated by the "elders" in the backroom for oral sex & publicly humiliated but never disfellowshipped.
my husband & i left the truth together after moving away from the area where we lived when we were witnesses.

Socialdistortion,
Me believes that Thoreau said it very well in his writings,
"The most I can do for my friend is simply to be his friend".
In my area we have very little one way streets.
It's great for traffic flow.
However, at times when all you want to do is get one block over,
you find you have to travel five blocks down and five blocks back
to get one block over.
What me is trying to say, (you know this), Sometime to have a friend,
while it might seem out of the way, we must go the extra distance to be
a friend.

31 Years A Watchtower Slave
by truthseeker inmy other half has accepted this.. after many years of fading i have stopped going altogether.
i still have friends and family in so i'm happy to remain inactive.. .
i was never a very good watchtower slave to begin with.. i was raised in the truth but i never really put my heart and soul into the religion.

Truthseeker,
You can call your book "31 Years a Watchtower Slave" but
Schnell beat you to it with "30 Years a Watchtower Slave"
It was a big hit.

FB30,
You have been given a full plate from these fine posters.
Just don't choke on the meal.
Eat slowly digest the meal.
We surely would not want you to get indigestion.

Thanks to each and everyone of you
by StoneWall inafter many months of lurking and researching on oh so many different topics, doubts, concerns, and viewpoints i decided to get my feet wet and start posting.
many times i wished to contribute something to a thread but was to apprehensive to get an account.
then as time passed and i read many more of the post from various members the uneasiness subsided somewhat and my desire to proceed into previously uncharted waters grew.

Welcome,
Might me say, "Me does not believe any human is stupid,
just insight from a different viewpoint".
Just remember you DO NOT have to answer any question
about yourself.
There are some here on the board that just love to ask
question but at the same time will never say anything
about themselves that has meaning.
For the most part ALL try to be helpful.
Thanks

How many times must me tell you to stop reading those older pub.

Don't you just love that false statement!
For me, the most laughable WBTS teaching is:
Shunning. -

Hi! I'm new here!
by gloobster ini just signed up here, so i guess i should let everyone know a few things about myself.. my maternal grandfather was an elder in a congregation here, and he and my grandmother raised my mother quite strictly as a jehovah's witness.
my father's father was also a jehovah's witness, though much less devout.
when my parents were in their mid-20's they more or less disassociated themselves from the flock.

Newbie here
by CAL69 ini'm new to this site and just thought i'd share a little bit about myself.. i was born and raised in los angeles, grew up as a jw and left the org when i was 22. i wasn't df'd or da'd, i just faded (very quickly).
i left the org 10 years ago and never looked back....or so i thought.
it wasn't until recently that i realized how much of a hold they still had on me.
